About The Position

The Technical Project Leader role in the Global Product Management team within the department of TT/S (Truck Technology / Software) leads a multi‑disciplinary, multi-regional team, driving global Software & Electronics development forward in alignment with Daimler Truck’s processes, methods, and technology strategy. This dynamic role provides strong operational leadership and cross‑functional coordination to ensure timely delivery of software, electronics, and systems engineering outcomes for assigned domains and projects. This person plans, organizes, and oversees project resources, schedules, budgets, and risks; in partnership with global crossfunctional experts, they develop detailed work plans and status reporting, ensure adherence to quality standards, and oversee the review of project deliverables. This influential role works closely with engineering, business, and external partners to align requirements, manage dependencies, and coordinate vendor contributions by tracking and reviewing external deliverables, enabling effective execution across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in either Engineering (or related technical field), or in Business Administration (or related field)
  • 2 years of progressive project leadership experience
  • Ability to employ analytical thought to independently solve complex problems with minimal guidance and identify solutions
  • Ability to lead team or department projects or work streams within broader projects
  • Ability to advise management and key external stakeholders on projects
  • Act as a resource and guide for colleagues with less experience
  • Must collaborate successfully with intercultural, global teams, including time zone constraints

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with automotive software or electrical/electronic component development preferred
  • Experience with automotive vehicle instrumentation or body controller component development preferred
  • Experience with CVDS (Commercial Vehicle Development System) or FRAME preferred
  • Experience with SEDP (Software and Electronics Development Process) preferred
  • Systems Thinking: Demonstrated ability to evaluate end‑to‑end impacts across R&D, production, and after‑sales. Anticipates cross‑domain effects of design choices.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Experience or demonstrated ability to work effectively with TT/S domain teams, MB Truck, Product Strategy, After‑Sales, and global engineering units.
  • Communication: Demonstrated ability to clearly convey complex system characteristics or situations to technical and non‑technical stakeholders, including executive management teams.

Responsibilities

  • Uses technical & project management knowledge to plan, organize, and oversee resources, procedures, and timing for a technical project, and/or to manage the lifecycle of a global product
  • Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports, conducting risk analysis and monitoring the progress of plans against project milestones and budgets
  • Provides or facilitates technical and analytical guidance to the project team
  • Ensures adherence to quality standards and review of project deliverables
  • Facilitates the gathering, analysis and documentation of technical requirements by Engineering through adherence to company development processes, and liaising with a range of users in the organization
  • May manage the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables
  • May support budget management activities in the context of the product or project assigned
