About The Position

Pratt Miller is a product development company in motorsports, defense, and mobility industries providing clients with product engineering and low-volume production solutions. Our range of research & development, engineering, prototype manufacturing, test & validation, and low-rate production capability help our customers bring their high-quality products to market faster. The Technical Project Lead is in charge of planning and coordinating technical engineering initiatives to make sure they can complete a project within their budget and according to a schedule. Duties include upholding project standards by researching compliance regulations, developing project implementation plans and adjusting specifications for elements of a project. You will manage the planning and processes of a project and delegate responsibilities to appropriate team members and sub-teams to ensure the project is completed efficiently and successfully. Day-to-day duties and responsibilities may vary depending on project team construct.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 years post-graduation employment experience.
  • Basic understanding of engineering program processes.
  • Knowledge in testing, evaluation, and verification/validation of vehicle systems.
  • Knowledge and understanding of system engineering, systems safety, and safety-critical software.
  • Knowledge in specific areas relating to weapon systems, combat vehicle integration, fire control, and software deployment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have excellent mechanical ability and likes to work with their hands.
  • Strong work ethic and pride in their work products.
  • Be interested in technology and learning new things.
  • Work collaboratively with others and be a team player.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in MATLAB/Simulink and/or other surfacing-capable CAD software.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical CAD design software, including Creo, Siemens NX, and CATIA.
  • Experience working in vehicle prototype manufacturing environments, such as motorsports, defense, or automotive industries.
  • Familiarity with engineering design workflows, including concept development, surface modeling, and prototype support.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, and test teams in a fast-paced prototype environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular meetings with team leads, stakeholders, and clients to ensure program and project requirements are met on schedule.
  • Delegate tasks to team members according to their individual skill sets, experience, and abilities to ensure efficient completion of the project.
  • Maintain budgets as necessary and adjust according to needs as they arise.
  • Track performance and analyze the completion of key goals to meet contract requirements.
  • Ensure alignment of project solutions with broader organizational goals, industry roadmaps, and emerging technologies
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and competing requirements in the design space as well as schedule
  • Document and report project progress to team leads, stakeholders, and clients.
