About The Position

The Technical Project Engineer is responsible for enhancing the performance of the machine equipment through time studies, material flows and continuous improvement activities. Pace offers careers and has been innovating die-casting in North America for 50 years. Starting in a small town in 1970, Pace is now North America's largest die casting company, supplying customers worldwide.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with 1-3 years of experience in engineering field
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization, from production associates to senior leaders.
  • Ability to build credibility and trust
  • Must be proficient with the use of the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Minitab statistical analysis software.
  • Experience with CAD 3D
  • Knowledge of Solidworks
  • Basic Part print and GD&T understanding
  • Must possess an interest or understanding of the automotive manufacturing industry.
  • Must have great written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Inter-personal skills must be strong to enable relational team building within an operation
  • Must be flexible with the ability to adjust to rapidly changing business procedures
  • Ability to function as a team player and be comfortable leading without authority.
  • Ability to influence leaders and change their paradigms

Nice To Haves

  • Internship or work experience in casting, CNC machining, tooling or molding a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute manufacturing and tooling project plans, including design, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closure of projects.
  • Serve as internal and external point of contact upon receipt of project P.O. through project completion.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring adherence to timelines and financial targets.
  • Partner with other departments to clearly define project scope and deliverables, assign resources, roles and responsibilities, and set schedules and due dates.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of molding processes to optimize designs for manufacturability and efficiency.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to design and manufacturing teams.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for new projects.
  • Implement and maintain quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with specifications and industry regulations.
  • Troubleshoot and address any quality issues that may arise during production.
  • Collaborate closely with customers during project development, providing updates, addressing concerns, and managing feedback.
  • Foster strong customer relationships, aiming for customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and best practices to enhance the company's competitive position.
  • Provide senior management with the necessary metrics and reports for future planning.
  • Demonstrate leadership and positively influence others to achieve results.
