About The Position

As a Project Engineer II with high‑volume government defense manufacturing experience, you will serve as a crucial technical resource, supporting the planning and tactical execution of engineering content for assigned programs. This role involves direct collaboration with the Program Manager and Engineering Leadership, where you will drive multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and on budget. You will act as the primary technical liaison between engineering management, various technical disciplines, and the customer. Leveraging your background in complex defense manufacturing environments, you will help ensure technical rigor, compliance, and production scalability. This position is essential for managing project scope and execution within a rigorous, deadline-driven environment while ensuring alignment with business goals through effective cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

• 4-year degree from an accredited university in Engineering or related field
• 0 to 3 years of project engineering experience
• 3-5+ years of engineering experience
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Must possess or be able to acquire a DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Nice To Haves

• Earned Value Management (EVM) Control Account Manager (CAM) experience preferred
• Experience working through the System Engineering Technical Review (SETR) process

Responsibilities

• Guide and execute engineering management practices, to include holding requirements technical review boards and systems engineering technical reviews to include understanding and interpreting technical requirements and coordinating requirements across organizations
• Manage technical team ETCs throughout the project lifecycle
• Oversees and coordinates the cost/schedule/technical aspects of ongoing engineering projects and understand Earned Value analysis of cost and schedule metrics
• Assigns specific job tasks to engineers and teams for completion as well as monitor progress
• Provides key technical insight to Vice President of Development Programs, Vice President of Engineering and Senior Leadership Team in internal and external program reviews and reports
• Interface directly with customers through presentations, meetings, or other communication
• Serve as member of the Engineering Leadership Team (ELT)
• Support Bid and proposals efforts including system architectural design, BOE creation and technical writing
• Uses Sparton policies and procedures to complete work assignments and assures group employees adhere to the Sparton policies and procedures
• All other duties as assigned
