About The Position

Micron Technology is seeking a technically fluent Technical Program Manager for its Smart Manufacturing AI Pathfinding & Innovation (AIPI) team. The role guides initiatives from exploratory research concepts into functional proofs of concept, focusing on unproven AI architectures, next-generation large language models, multimodal systems, and emerging agentic frameworks. The TPM structures discovery in ambiguous environments and connects research, machine learning engineering, infrastructure, and executive stakeholders to de-risk and validate the future AI technical roadmap. The position manages complex AI/ML and data-driven programs, collaborating with data scientists, engineers, subject-matter experts, and senior leadership to define objectives, turn them into actionable plans, and support execution. It drives AIPI program operations and strategy, establishes consistent processes, tracks objectives and impact, and advises leadership on feasibility, risk, trade-offs, and resource allocation. Micron offers medical, dental, and vision plans, income-protection benefits, paid family leave, paid time off, and paid holidays.

Requirements

  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or another related technical field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in complex program management and demonstrated success in global program execution.
  • Expertise in program management, project management, and vendor relationship management.
  • Extensive experience interacting with senior executives.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make data-driven decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proven ability to manage complex technical programs, coordinate cross-functional teams, and drive projects to completion while balancing competing priorities and constraints.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and shape unstructured, exploratory ideas into defined experimental roadmaps.
  • Foundational understanding of AI concepts, including deep learning, neural network architectures, transformers, training and inference lifecycles, and modern data-processing workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the daily work and enable the long-term strategy of AIPI programs.
  • Develop and document processes and methodologies to create consistency across AIPI initiatives.
  • Represent AIPI in cross-functional operations initiatives, working teams, and meetings; advance priorities, build relationships, and serve as a liaison between organizations.
  • Develop, coordinate, and sustain top-level organizational objectives, with regular read-outs to senior and executive stakeholders.
  • Oversee AI pathfinding projects, including resourcing and timelines.
  • Identify and address technical gaps or barriers that stall project progress.
  • Design and maintain scalable project roadmaps aligned with strategic goals.
  • Act as a central point of contact and single source of truth for AIPI programs.
  • Advise leadership on technical feasibility, risk mitigation, and resource allocation.
  • Partner with teams to identify technical bottlenecks, evaluate trade-offs, and determine when to pivot, scale, or sunset experimental paths.
  • Remove technical and operational barriers so research teams can move quickly.
  • Communicate technical risks and breakthroughs clearly to non-technical executives.
  • Establish rapid learning loops, milestones, and metrics for unproven technologies.
  • Partner with stakeholders and subject-matter experts to develop measurable objectives and actions.
  • Implement and oversee key metrics to ensure deliverables are achieved and have the desired impact.
  • Analyze data and communicate project status, results, and business impact.
  • Propose and develop processes and policies to drive organizational consistency and reduce work for senior leadership.
