Technical Program Manager

ev.energy,
CA$131,300 - CA$160,900Remote

About The Position

ev.energy is building the world's largest EV-centric virtual power plant (VPP) by connecting vehicles, chargers, batteries, solar, and other distributed energy resources. The company is scaling rapidly across North America and Europe and is looking for builders who want to power the grid of the future. This role will own technical partner relationships end-to-end, acting as the connective tissue between the commercial team, external partners, and the engineering and product teams. The role involves managing a portfolio of technical partner relationships, leading complex integrations, championing the value of platform APIs, coordinating across departments, and developing repeatable playbooks. The position also emphasizes the use of AI tooling for various tasks and shaping program management in an AI-native organization.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in technical program management, product management, partnerships, or a related role
  • Strong technical fluency — comfortable with REST APIs, authentication, and integration patterns (e.g. OpenADR, DERMS, utility platforms) — paired with a genuine commercial mindset
  • Excellent external communication: you can lead a technical overview for a partner and a status update for an exec with equal ease
  • A demonstrated ability to align cross-functional stakeholders and drive commitments without direct authority

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in energy, EV, IoT, or another partner-integration-heavy domain
  • A track record of building the program-management function at a small or scaling company, not just running project

Responsibilities

  • Own a portfolio of technical partner relationships (roughly 6–10 to start), inheriting integration-partner relationship management as it moves into the team — the trusted bridge between what partners and commercial need and what engineering delivers
  • Lead complex integrations from requirements discovery and scoping through project planning, testing, and launch to production
  • Champion the value of our platform APIs and integrations — conveying use cases, benefits, and the integration process to partners and internal stakeholders alike
  • Coordinate across Product, Engineering, Commercial, and Support to keep everyone aligned on the critical path and on schedule
  • Develop repeatable playbooks so each new integration is faster and more reliable than the last
  • Define partner-success metrics beyond uptime and SLAs, and communicate program status, risks, and ROI to leadership
  • Use AI tooling (Claude and equivalents) as a core part of how you work — drafting partner-facing docs and integration specs, synthesizing status across programs, and turning your playbooks into repeatable, partly-automated workflows

Benefits

  • Cash amount of up to 10% of your monthly salary, to cover the cost of buying or leasing an EV
  • Equity, in the form of share options (granted as a % of your salary)
  • Healthcare provided by Canada Life (Premium plan)
  • Life assurance of 2x your salary
  • Paid-for co-working access (on-demand or subscription)
  • Annual 'Team Week' whole company offsite
  • L&D allowance of $1,800 CAD per year
