About The Position

Sierra is hiring its founding Infrastructure Technical Program Manager to help bring its AI platform into the cloud environments of large and regulated enterprises. Working with Agent Engineers, Deployed Infrastructure Engineers, and Agent Strategists, this role owns programs and strategy that take customers from deployment planning through production launches and subsequent upgrades and expansions. The role also establishes playbooks, operating practices, and standards for the Infrastructure TPM function as it scales. The TPM owns end-to-end plans for customer in-VPC (Bring Your Own Cloud, or BYOC) deployments, translating requirements into workstreams, owners, milestones, and dependencies across Sierra and customer teams. The role coordinates enterprise stakeholders, translates technical discussions into actionable plans, leads deployment operating cadences, and feeds customer-specific learnings back into Sierra’s standard offerings, runbooks, and tooling.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years in technical program management, infrastructure or platform program management, deployment or solutions engineering, or a similar role delivering complex technical projects across multiple teams.
  • Track record of structuring complex technical programs, with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Strong technical foundation in infrastructure, platform, or complex backend programs; ability to work through technical dependencies and understand how networking, permissions, and provisioning requirements affect delivery.
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly, ask thoughtful questions, build context, and apply learning to move programs forward.
  • Comfort operating within large, complex enterprise organizations, including change management, security reviews, and ownership distributed across many teams.
  • Clear, structured communication skills, including the ability to explain technical topics, program status, and decisions to engineers and leaders.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on engineering background in software, DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure before moving into program or product management.
  • Direct experience with AWS, VPCs, IAM, Kubernetes, or Terraform.
  • Experience deploying software into customer-owned cloud environments, including BYOC, VPC, or air-gapped environments, especially at banks or other regulated institutions.
  • Familiarity with LLM infrastructure, including model gateways, Bedrock or Azure OpenAI, and observability for AI systems.
  • Experience at an early-stage company building a program-management function from scratch.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end program plan for customer in-VPC (Bring Your Own Cloud, BYOC) deployments, translating customer requirements into workstreams, owners, milestones, and dependencies across Sierra and customer teams.
  • Drive execution across customer platform engineering, cloud provisioning, security, networking, model access, and observability teams; establish commitments and resolve blockers.
  • Translate requirements and technical discussions between Sierra engineers and customers into actionable next steps.
  • Run deployment operating cadences, including standups, weekly status updates, and escalations, keeping leadership informed about blockers, owners, and launch-date impacts.
  • Partner with Sierra Platform and Deployed Infrastructure teams to incorporate customer learnings into standard deployment offerings, runbooks, and tooling.
  • Establish the TPM function’s playbooks, operating rhythms, and standards for future TPMs and customer teams.
