Technical Program Manager - Wholesale Roaming

Skylo TechnologiesMountain View, CA
$130,000 - $145,000

About The Position

Skylo is seeking a senior program leader to drive complex, cross-functional initiatives across Sales Engineering and the teams that support customer and MNO delivery. This role is responsible for converting strategic priorities into integrated plans, operating cadence, visible decisions, and dependable outcomes. The individual will collaborate with technical, commercial, and operational stakeholders to remove dependencies, manage risk, and guide high-impact programs from definition through launch and stabilization. Skylo has pioneered a standards-based approach to satellite connectivity, connecting smartphones and IoT devices directly to satellites without special hardware or new networks. Their direct-to-device service is live on millions of activated devices globally, powered by Skylo's commercial NTN vRAN, a 3GPP standards-based, cloud-native platform that bridges terrestrial and satellite networks. Joining Skylo offers a chance to work on technology that matters in the mass-market consumer devices, automotive, and industrial IoT sectors.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in technical program management, product operations, engineering operations, or complex delivery.
  • Experience owning programs that span multiple teams.
  • Demonstrated success leading ambiguous initiatives involving technical architecture, operations, commercial requirements, and external partners.
  • Strong program design, planning, dependency management, risk management, executive communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to understand telecommunications, network, or platform concepts sufficiently to challenge assumptions and connect technical tradeoffs to business outcomes.
  • Excellent written communication and a track record of creating durable operating mechanisms.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in telecommunications, satellite, IoT, mobile networks, carrier partnerships, or a similarly regulated and infrastructure-intensive environment.
  • Familiarity with MNO onboarding, network launches, solutions engineering, or partner delivery.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Slack, Google Workspace, dashboards, and portfolio-planning tools.
  • PMP, PgMP, or Agile certification

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple strategic programs from charter and requirements through execution, launch, and post-launch review.
  • Build integrated plans covering scope, milestones, dependencies, resources, decision points, success measures, and operational readiness.
  • Establish governance forums and concise reporting for working teams, functional leaders, and executives.
  • Identify critical-path risks early and drive mitigation, escalation, ownership, and resolution.
  • Coordinate Sales Engineering with Product, Network, Engineering, Operations, Sales, Finance, Legal, vendors, and customer or partner teams.
  • Improve intake, prioritisation, capacity planning, change control, documentation, and retrospective practices.
  • Translate technical detail into business implications and executive decisions without losing accuracy.
  • Define outcome metrics and ensure programs deliver business impact rather than simply completing activities.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation packages including a stock option-based equity program
  • Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plan
  • Monthly allowances for wellness and education reimbursement
  • A generous time-off policy, holidays, and the opportunity to temporarily work abroad
  • Access to a world-class team across software, hardware, chipsets, telecom, satellite, and network virtualization
  • Open, transparent, inclusive culture that blends Silicon Valley, Nordic, and South Asia characteristics
