About The Position

The Program Management Office (PMO) at Zoox is responsible for driving cross-functional program planning and execution. The L3 Program within PMO manages the optimal allocation and usage of the test fleet, operated nationwide with leading-edge hardware and software. This role is for early-career talent with a history of high performance and eagerness to apply skills to complex challenges. As a Technical Program Manager (6-month contract), you will work on well-defined projects to make an impact and grow into a leader who can run, improve, and expand program structures. This is an on-site role requiring five days per week in the office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical or quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics, or a related discipline).
  • Demonstrated passion for learning and high potential for growth.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage projects, and show initiative.
  • Deep curiosity and interest in autonomous vehicles, robotics, or complex software and hardware systems.
  • Deep passion for a technical subject, demonstrated through academic or personal projects.
  • Tangible experience shipping projects that work (e.g., through student engineering competitions or hackathons).
  • Experience improving teamwork and collaboration within a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Internship experience in a technology company, program management, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira.
  • Basic scripting or data analysis skills (e.g., Python, SQL).

Responsibilities

  • Work independently to gather and analyze information from various teams to create unified program management templates, helping to standardize how deliverables are tracked across the company.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering and product to define, structure, and track key program deliverables, ensuring critical initiatives are aligned and on track.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and tooling improvements, building better dashboards and tools to enhance program reporting and efficiency.
  • Engage with the technical details of programs, participating in the review process for project-level deliverables to ensure they meet strategic intent.
  • Develop strong relationships with a wide range of teams, learning to communicate effectively and drive progress in a highly cross-functional environment.
