As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers. Google's Data Center Fleet Efficiency team is seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to drive high-impact initiatives that optimize our extensive data center operations. In this role, you will lead large-scale, complex technical programs from inception to completion, utilizing strong technical judgment to guide architectural decisions, mitigate risks, and navigate ambiguous requirements. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners including Engineering, Product Management, UX, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to define program scopes and align multiple organizations to achieve strategic goals. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience in program management.
Experience with data center infrastructure (e.g. data center power and cooling systems, machine learning hardware).
Experience with SQL scripting and data analytics.

Nice To Haves

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
7 years of experience in technical program management, with a focus on data center infrastructure (power and cooling systems), ML hardware, data management systems.
5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
Experience influencing and leading cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
Exceptional verbal and written communication, and strong presentation skills, capable of tailoring communication to different audiences.
Excellent investigative, problem-solving, organizational, and strategic thinking skills.

Responsibilities

Lead, manage, and deliver large-scale, complex technical programs from initiation through completion, often starting with ambiguous requirements.
Define program scope, objectives, key results, and deliverables in partnership with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product Management, UX, and SRE.
Develop and maintain comprehensive program plans, schedules, risk registers, and resource forecasts.
Drive alignment and foster collaboration across multiple teams and organizations, influencing without direct authority to achieve program goals.
Communicate program status, progress, risks, and key metrics clearly and concisely to stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership, through presentations, reports, and other means.
