About The Position

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers. The Payments Platform team is the financial backbone of Google, responsible for moving more than $150B across 236+ countries. We support strategic growth for 100+ product teams, including Play, YouTube, Cloud and Ads, by building the front-end user flows, backend systems, and billing tools necessary to enable global payments. Our core mission is to facilitate seamless customer transactions and business growth, while ensuring compliance with global government regulations. This Program Manager will support critical projects and programs across the 4Cs team (Charging, Credit, Collections and Cash applications). As a Program Manager at Google, you will use your expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You will work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You will combine deep technical and payment expertise with a powerful understanding of these clients needs to help them meet their business goals and drive Google growth. Whether it is paying online with Autofill, using tap and pay in stores, or using the Google Pay app, the Payments team at Google is focused on making payments simple, seamless, and secure. In addition to consumer payment technologies, the Payments team also powers the money movement between Google and its consumers and businesses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Experience with software implementation.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in payments or financial/accounting systems.
  • Experience with workflow automation, data analytics and mobile software development.
  • Experience in driving large leadership-level meetings or business reviews, drafting presentations and leading discussions in a large group setting.
  • Ability to take ownership, bring order into chaos, and collaborate well with others.

Responsibilities

  • Own and facilitate software implementation projects, including providing full project management, creation and maintenance of implementation documentation and tracking timelines and deliverables.
  • Work closely with engineers, product manager, UX, cross-functional partners to define requirements, scope, schedule, resourcing, milestones/tasks.
  • Understand complex systems at high and low levels.
  • Facilitate team discussions, drive issues to resolution, help identify risk mitigations.
  • Ensure launch readiness, coordinate testing, rollout, post-launch monitoring.
