About The Position

The Technical Production Engineer II leads and supports audiovisual engineering and event production operations across VSG venues, including Benchmark International Arena. The role balances advanced event execution with ongoing system upkeep, documentation, and project work. It includes leading AV execution for medium-sized events, supporting show production teams, maintaining vendor and integrator relationships, and leading small- and medium-sized projects. The position also collaborates across departments to deliver a high-quality technology experience and represents VSG at industry events, conferences, and presentations.

The role includes game and event night responsibilities, with approximately 60 or more events worked per year. Work takes place in office and arena environments that may be exciting, loud, and distracting, and requires flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the event calendar.

Requirements

• Six or more years of live event production engineering experience.
• CTS certification required or must be obtained within one year.
• QSYS Level 2 and its prerequisites.
• QSYS Control 101.
• Dante Level 2 and its prerequisites.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the event calendar.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced live event environment.
• Strong communication skills and a customer service mindset.
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively in an office and arena environment that can be exciting, loud, and distracting.
• Ability to lift, carry, or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, walk long distances, and climb stairs and ladders as needed.
• Ability to work in cold or hot indoor and outdoor temperatures.
• Ability to work comfortably around special effects, including haze, strobe lights, and lasers, when present.

Responsibilities

• Operate and troubleshoot advanced audiovisual needs for events at Benchmark International Arena and, as needed, Sparkman Wharf.
• Lead AV execution for medium-sized events at VSG venues.
• Support show production with internal and external production teams.
• Maintain relationships with vendors and integrators.
• Lead small- and medium-sized projects.
• Collaborate across departments to help provide a World Class + technology experience for clients, both internal and external.
• Maintain a high-level understanding of industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Represent VSG at industry events, conferences, and presentations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
