Brooks Instrument, an industry leader in flow and pressure instrumentation for critical applications, is seeking candidates for a Technical Product Specialist - Semiconductor Products position that will be based at the company headquarters in Hatfield, Pennsylvania (suburban Philadelphia). Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field. Associate degree in Engineering with substantial relevant experience also considered.
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience required.
  • Semiconductor industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience in sales, marketing, or a customer-facing role is preferred.
  • Previous experience with project or program management in cross functional teams is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills required.
  • Ability to work effectively on a team and across the organization to achieve objectives required.
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical information is required.
  • An understanding of marketing responsibilities including product portfolio, price, promotion and distribution preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate timely and accurate responses to customer and sales inquiries.
  • Provide detailed, accurate answers to customers driven questions including products and applications.
  • Identify and understand emerging applications for Brooks' products.
  • Ensure current product line information (for example, delivery or lead-time changes) is efficiently communicated.
  • Monitor and assess customers’ expectations for products and services.
  • Translate customers’ needs into specifications for Brooks’ products and services.
  • Make data driven decisions.
  • Support customer escalations.
  • Be responsible for managing product line profitability.
  • Implement pricing strategies to maximize Brooks' opportunities for penetration and profit.
  • Perform profit analysis for current and proposed products.
  • Manage projects. Work closely with engineering, operations, and quality to bring to market products and services that meet customers’ requirements.
  • Monitor the competitive environment. Identify threats and opportunities and be proactive in addressing those.
  • Give feedback where required on key features that Brooks’ may want to focus on to retain or gain market share.
  • Work with marketing communications to implement promotions, targeted communications, internet and social media strategies and other activities in support of the product, portfolio and market strategies.
  • Develop sales support material/literature, web content and training materials.
  • Work with sales and customers and travel as necessary to understand customers’ needs, support major account activity, maintain product awareness, support trade shows, provide training and assure factory performance.
  • Ability to work with others on a team and influence actions without formal authority.
