About The Position

Spear AI is hiring several Technical Product / Program Managers to support an Intelligence Community mission customer. Each manager owns an AI or software product end to end, from mission requirement through delivery and adoption, working with Spear AI engineers and government stakeholders. This is a product management role rather than a production-coding role, but it requires enough technical understanding of code, architecture, and trade-offs to make independent decisions aligned with commander’s intent. The position is part of Spear AI’s Services team, its applied engineering and technical advisory arm. Services embeds with government customers to design, build, and operate AI pipelines, data infrastructure, and software that move emerging capabilities from concept to fielded mission impact. The team combines ML, data, software, and cloud engineers with operators familiar with IC and DoD operations. The work supports mission users and may include accreditation, deployment, and transition in classified environments.

Requirements

At least 4 years of product, program, or project management experience on software efforts, with decisions and outcomes the candidate can discuss directly.
Track record of making sound trade-off decisions independently in ambiguous environments.
Experience with Agile delivery practices and tooling such as Jira, GitLab, or similar.
Clear communication with engineers and non-technical government stakeholders.
Working understanding of system architecture, APIs, data flows, cloud services, and deployment basics.
Ability to learn new AI platforms, frameworks, and integrations quickly, including agentic AI tooling.
Experience managing AI/ML or LLM-based products.
Experience delivering software in classified environments, including RMF/ATO.
Active CI Polygraph from DIA or NSA.

Nice To Haves

Military or Intelligence Community experience.
PMP, CSPO, CSM, or equivalent certification.
AWS Bedrock and related services experience.
Microsoft Azure AI Foundry and related services experience.
Palantir Foundry, Gotham, AIP, or Maven Smart System (MSS) experience.
Ability to read code in at least one modern language (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Go) and follow a pull request.
Prior experience as a software engineer before moving into product or program management.
Experience with agentic AI frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, or MCP.

Responsibilities

Own the roadmap, backlog, and delivery for an assigned product or capability line.
Translate mission and operational requirements into clear, scoped engineering work.
Make independent technical and programmatic trade-off decisions aligned with commander’s intent.
Review pull requests and technical designs to confirm that work matches the requirements.
Scope work, challenge estimates, and surface technical risks early.
Build a quick prototype or script when it is the fastest way to answer a product question.
Serve as the primary point of contact for government stakeholders for the assigned product.
Report schedule, risk, and dependencies to Spear AI leadership and the customer.
Drive adoption and feedback loops with mission users.
Support accreditation, deployment, and transition in classified environments.
