About The Position

The Technical Product Owner (TPO) within the Enterprise Supply Chain Business Technology Make Product Group is responsible for maximizing throughput and ensuring value realization by the business through implemented JJT capabilities. The TPO needs a strong understanding of external IT capabilities and their application to drive business value for J&J. This role operates at the intersection of manufacturing process business owners and technology, defining strategies and priorities that combine business objectives and challenges with technology solutions. This includes development execution, value realization, and ongoing product management. The TPO will support the Anasco Make squad in areas of reliability, performance, and capabilities for plant-specific local products, including new lines and enhancements. Additionally, this role will provide coaching to indirect team members.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree is required.
  • A minimum of 6 years of major IT product design and support in Supply Chain / Manufacturing operations product ownership.
  • Project Management skills/experience in deployment of major IT capabilities (like manufacturing / shop floor systems) across multiple sites is required.
  • Experience working around a supply chain and/or manufacturing environment.
  • Fluent in English (written / spoken) - Bilingual required.
  • Experience within a GxP environment is required.
  • Good understanding of software development, testing methodologies (SDLC) and customer experience.
  • Foundational skills in Data Engineering, Cybersecurity, Intelligent Automation and Emerging Technology, are required.
  • Deep knowledge in Manufacturing Supply Chain processes and product knowledge.
  • Track record of solving issues related to Manufacturing Process.
  • Track record of project delivery of Supply Chain projects related to Manufacturing Process.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with business partners at different levels to understand business requirements.
  • Experience of managing virtual, multi-location teams.
  • Experience of working in a Shared Services IT Operating model where development and support services are provided by shared services organizations that support multiple functional and organizational units is required.

  • A master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology or Manufacturing Operations is preferred.
  • Experience supporting SAP applications preferred.
  • Experience with MES platforms and integrations is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Shape the Make business vision, corresponding technology strategy, and product capability roadmaps focused on business impact.
  • Understand and translate business problems faced by the manufacturing site function into a value case for manufacturing site technology, data, governance, and user experience, supported by defined value realization KPIs.
  • Define the product vision, priorities, and OKRs for the site squad that support internal manufacturing processes, aligned with segment/franchise/site technology strategy and roadmap.
  • Establish and align technology roadmaps for squads to achieve efficient and effective delivery of business and customer value for assigned products/platforms, including supporting environments.
  • Balance and document business value with technical feasibility, prioritizing features and optimizing costs.
  • Prioritize site squad backlogs, manage product/platform constraints, and resolve cross-team dependencies; manage demand intake as required.
  • Be accountable for site financial budgets, ensuring aligned financial deliverables in accordance with the business portfolio and financial cycle (e.g., LRFP, MTP, BP).
  • Partner with site Leadership Teams on prioritization of investments and ensure new capabilities costs are embedded within site budgets.
  • Monitor site performance metrics to focus on business value realization, availability/uptime, and pull-through.
  • Understand external insights, trends, and leading practices in Make product maturity, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
  • Ensure product development efforts incorporate an approach that starts with experimentation, includes human-centered design, automation to reduce run costs, embraces agile principles, incorporates external insights, required end-to-end process optimizations, and compliance engagement.
  • Define the expected value impact of investments across employee experience, functional excellence, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Partner with the architecture team to define the role of each system within the landscape, aligned with business capabilities.
  • Act as the primary trusted advisor to senior manufacturing and technology leaders across all lifecycles of Manufacturing product development, from inception through value realization and continuous improvement, and communicate progress against strategic objectives.
  • Orchestrate the release of products/platforms to the site, ensuring a reliable, compliant, and secure environment.
  • Be accountable for the Cybersecurity/TLM strategy roadmap, incorporated into the site product roadmap, partnering with Information Security and Risk Management to assess and mitigate technology risks.
  • Be accountable for cross-team communication related to site squads.
  • Collaborate across Product/Platform groups to ensure all partners are clear on dependencies, enablers, and prioritization for the site squads.
  • Be accountable for site reliability performance.
  • Continuously drive optimization and rationalization of site squads.
  • Be responsible for the quality and compliance of site squads.
  • Serve as the primary JJT SME during internal and external audits.
  • Act as an empowered decision-maker regarding cross-squad prioritization, removing roadblocks, and driving prioritization and decisions where required.
  • Partner with product management teams to ensure roadmaps are oriented to deliver finance business & technology strategy, value creation objectives, and measurable KPIs.
  • Ensure all tools/platforms related to product management are up-to-date.
  • Manage build & run support and vendor relationships to influence development roadmaps and ensure technology partner needs are met.
