About The Position

LMI is a digital solutions provider focused on accelerating government impact through innovation and speed. We are seeking a Technical Product Owner to lead the evolution of Cadence, LMI’s program-management product for federal agencies, from its initial pilot phase into a scalable federal product. This role involves full product lifecycle ownership, including understanding users, setting product vision, leading delivery, defining architecture and deployment, building the market case, shaping pricing, and driving customer acquisition. The Technical Product Owner will work within LMI’s Sales Engineering team to ensure Cadence's success in the federal market.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in product management, product ownership, technical program management, solution architecture, or a similar role delivering software products.
  • Demonstrated ability to own a product from customer discovery through delivery, adoption, and growth.
  • Strong product judgment and user empathy.
  • Experience leading agile technical teams and managing product backlogs, roadmaps, releases, tradeoffs, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Commercial instinct and sales leadership, including defining value proposition, calculating customer ROI, developing pricing and packaging, leading demos, and assisting in closing business.
  • Technical fluency sufficient to lead architecture and implementation discussions with engineers, security teams, and customer technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with federal software deployment, including RMF, ATO processes, FedRAMP, DoD security requirements, Platform One or comparable accredited environments, and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Ability to operate with autonomy in an ambiguous, early-stage product environment while bringing structure, decisions, and momentum.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance required; active Secret or Top Secret clearance preferred.
  • Only US Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • For this position, LMI will only consider applicants with security clearances, due to the nature of the work.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience commercializing a federal software product or turning a customer-funded pilot into a repeatable offering.
  • Background as a software engineer, systems engineer, solution architect, or technical lead.
  • Experience in government program management, portfolio management, logistics, acquisition, readiness, installation management, or other complex mission operations.
  • Experience with user research, workflow mapping, human-centered design, and product analytics.
  • Experience building SaaS, low-code/no-code, workflow-management, portfolio-management, or enterprise dashboard products.
  • Experience with cloud authorization, continuous ATO, DevSecOps, and deployment across both DoD and civilian-agency environments.

Responsibilities

  • Own Cadence’s transition from the initial pilot into a repeatable, market-ready federal product, establishing the product vision, roadmap, release plan, backlog, and success measures.
  • Lead a small technical team within Sales Engineering, translating customer needs into clear epics, user stories, technical requirements, priorities, and acceptance criteria; guiding sprint planning, delivery, and product quality.
  • Engage with federal program managers, mission owners, and delivery teams to understand their current work management practices, including fragmented task systems, dependencies, status reporting, and decision cycles.
  • Identify common problems Cadence can solve across DoD and civilian agencies, distinguishing reusable product capabilities from customer-specific configurations, and developing a scalable product roadmap.
  • Define Cadence’s technical architecture and integration strategy, determining how it connects to customer environments and systems like Microsoft 365/Power Platform, Planner, Jira, ServiceNow, data platforms, and agency-specific workflows.
  • Shape the federal deployment strategy, including FedRAMP, DoD Impact Levels, Platform One or related hosting paths, RMF/ATO requirements, security controls, identity and access management, data handling, and integration constraints.
  • Build the commercial case for Cadence, defining target customers, use cases, pricing, packaging, implementation approach, customer ROI, value proposition, and the path from pilot to enterprise adoption.
  • Partner with LMI’s sales, account teams, capture, delivery, platform teams, security, and leadership to identify opportunities, develop customer-specific solutions, and convert demand into revenue.
  • Lead Cadence demos, discovery sessions, and technical discussions with customers, clearly explaining the product’s value to both program leadership and technical stakeholders.
  • Establish product measures that matter, including customer adoption, time saved, reduced reporting and coordination burden, delivery predictability, SLA performance, pipeline growth, pilot conversion, revenue, and customer expansion.
