Technical Product Manager

Knowtex•San Francisco, CA
•$120,000 - $180,000•Hybrid

About The Position

Knowtex is the first frontier AI lab for healthcare that is building AI to save human lives. We built an AI system that executes the most complex workflows in medicine and empowers clinicians with clinical intelligence capabilities, so every patient can receive the best care possible. We're hiring our second Technical Product Manager to own product releases and metrics end to end across the Knowtex application — spanning clinical intelligence, our web and mobile apps, backend, product analytics, and product marketing. This is not a process-management role. We need someone who can read code, scope an API with an engineer, prototype a workflow in Claude Code or Cursor before lunch, and write the release notes and launch plan by end of day. You'll build the analytics foundation we use to understand adoption and usage, and you'll turn what clinicians tell us on site visits into prioritized, shipped work. You'll report to the CTO and work alongside our existing TPM on a team of two, partnering closely with Engineering, Customer Delivery and Implementation, and leadership. It's outsized scope with direct access to the founders, on a product that's already in the hands of tens of thousands of clinicians.

Requirements

  • 3+ years as a PM or TPM shipping B2B SaaS, ideally including a mobile app (iOS/Android) in production
  • You've shipped things end to end — not just managed them — and can say "I" when you describe what you built
  • Breadth across a product, not a single narrow feature area
  • You can read code, scope APIs and integrations, and work directly with engineers without translation
  • Comfortable discussing architecture and data flows, and writing specs that engineers build from directly
  • Daily, hands-on use of AI coding and design tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Figma, Claude Design) to prototype quickly
  • Hands-on product analytics experience: defining event taxonomies, building dashboards in Amplitude (or Mixpanel/Heap), and writing SQL
  • You've owned metrics and can name specific ones you moved
  • You reach for data unprompted when making decisions
  • Excellent writer — specs, release notes, and customer-facing product updates are core to this role
  • Clear and concise with engineers, clinicians, customers, and leadership alike
  • High ownership; thrives with ambiguity and owns outcomes without needing detailed direction
  • Energized by a fast-moving, ~25-person startup rather than a large PM org with heavy structure
  • Curious about clinicians and healthcare workflows, and motivated by reducing clinician burnout
  • A track record of picking up work beyond your job description — setting up analytics or writing launch copy because no one else did

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare or health tech experience (EHR integrations, clinical workflows, HIPAA)
  • Product marketing experience: launch plans, positioning, sales enablement, case studies
  • Exposure to regulated or federal environments (FedRAMP, VA, Section 508/WCAG)
  • Experience running user research or UX studies with clinicians or other professional end users
  • A coding background or CS degree

Responsibilities

  • Own the roadmap and execution for projects across the Knowtex application — clinical intelligence, web and mobile (iOS/Android), and backend
  • Write clear specs that engineers can build from directly, and manage delivery from scoping through release
  • Run standups and syncs with engineering, triage tickets, and keep priorities sharp as new information comes in
  • Review builds and QA releases, especially on mobile, before they reach clinicians
  • Define and instrument our product metrics, building the analytics foundation from the ground up: event taxonomy, tracking, and dashboards
  • Stand up adoption and usage reporting in Amplitude across clinical intelligence, application, and backend
  • Track and report core KPIs — adoption, active usage, note completion, and retention — and use them to drive roadmap decisions
  • Write SQL and dig into the data yourself rather than waiting on someone else to pull it
  • Use AI coding and design tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Figma, Claude Design) daily to prototype ideas quickly and test them before committing engineering time
  • Gather clinician feedback through customer site visits and user research, and turn what you hear into prioritized backlog items
  • Bring a working prototype, not just a slide, to product discussions
  • Partner on launches: launch plans, positioning, and go-to-market timing
  • Write release notes and customer-facing product updates
  • Build sales and customer enablement materials so Customer Delivery and Implementation are ready before rollout
  • Contribute to case studies and content that show the product's impact
  • Work with Customer Delivery, Implementation, and leadership to keep what clinicians experience and what we build tightly connected
  • Communicate product decisions clearly in writing, from one-page specs to company-wide updates

Benefits

  • Equity
  • Comprehensive benefits
  • Onboarding on our product, clinical documentation workflows, and customer base
  • HIPAA and security/compliance training (plus VA/federal training where relevant)
  • Shadowing implementations and site visits
  • Direct mentorship from the CTO
