The Technical Product Manager, ServiceNow, will be responsible for the product strategy, roadmap, delivery, configuration, and evolution of the ServiceNow platform. This role involves partnering with IT, business stakeholders, administrators, developers, and vendors to translate business needs into scalable ServiceNow capabilities that enhance intake, delivery, support, governance, reporting, integrations, and the overall employee experience. It is a hands-on role requiring roadmap definition, project management, configuration, development, and support of releases and upgrades. The company operates a dynamic, HYBRID workplace, with an expectation of in-office presence Tuesday through Thursday for collaboration and culture building. The expected pay scale for this role is $150k to $170k. The company recently moved into a modern 133,000 sq ft headquarters in Emeryville, California, featuring amenities like personal workspaces, a gym, a café, and onsite parking.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical product management, business systems analysis, product ownership, platform delivery, or technical project delivery roles using SDLC methodologies and standards, with Agile experience preferred.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience using or supporting ServiceNow capabilities, including Incident, Knowledge Base, Service Requests, Service Portal/Employee Center, ITSM, SPM, workflow automation, reporting, service catalog, or related modules.
  • Experience managing integration endpoints or partnering on integrations between ServiceNow and external systems or enterprise applications.
  • Experience working with vendor partners, outsourced consultants, administrators, developers, and platform support teams to deliver configuration, automation, reporting, and advanced development requests.
  • Proven track record of improving processes, increasing adoption, troubleshooting operational issues, and guiding multiple stakeholders through prioritization and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and relationship building skills, with the ability to align technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and leaders around clear priorities and decisions.
  • Ability to learn new systems or processes quickly.
  • Ability to define a product vision, build a practical roadmap, manage a backlog, and create milestones that move the platform forward.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, prioritization, facilitation, and decision-making skills in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with cross-functional teams and work independently to evaluate business and technical options, tradeoffs, and dependencies.
  • A self-starter, customer-oriented product thinker who can create structure, challenge assumptions respectfully, drive alignment, and get meaningful work delivered.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary product owner for ServiceNow by communicating the ServiceNow product vision, strategy, roadmap, and enhancement backlog, prioritizing work based on business impact, platform strategy, resource capacity, dependencies and stakeholder readiness.
  • Partner with IT leaders, process owners, business stakeholders, and vendor partners to understand needs, prioritize demand, and translate requirements into clear product capabilities and delivery sprint and release plans.
  • Define success measures, adoption goals, platform KPIs, and business outcomes that demonstrate the value of ServiceNow investments and continuous improvement.
  • Lead ServiceNow projects and enhancements from discovery through launch, including stakeholder requirements gathering, user story and acceptance criteria creation, functional specifications, configuration needs, workflow and process diagrams, documentation, testing, communications, and adoption.
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies such as backlog grooming, sprint planning, demos, retrospectives, release readiness reviews, and status communications.
  • Balance strategic platform growth with practical delivery discipline, ensuring ServiceNow remains scalable, intuitive, secure, and aligned to enterprise process standards.
  • Champion change management, training, and communications so users understand new capabilities and adopt improved ways of working.
  • Configure and develop ServiceNow applications, workflows, dashboards, reports, catalog items, service requests, knowledge, and service portal/Employee Center experiences to meet business needs.
  • Partner with administrators, developers, architects, integration team members, and external consultants to design scalable solutions, manage integrations with other enterprise applications, and minimize unnecessary customization.
  • Support platform health, release management, vendor release summaries and readiness documents, environment readiness, ServiceNow upgrades, update-set review, regression testing, production support, troubleshooting, debugging, and incident management.
  • Collaborate with Master Data and Audit teams to support permissions, roles, user access, governance controls, and audit-ready documentation.
  • Provide technical support, user training, process documentation, release notes, support materials, and operational reporting to enable adoption and continuous improvement.
  • Attend meetings and presentations.
