About The Position

We are searching for the best talent for a Technical Product Manager, PLM, Data & Integration to be located in Raritan, NJ. The individual in this role will lead a team of engineers in the driving the creation, execution and management of the source-to-target mappings implementing business rules and data transformations & integrations (including normalization/standardization) within the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) framework. This includes a strong emphasis on maintaining data integrity and quality during the design, migration, and configuration processes to meet the goals of the MedTech PLM product group. This role will collaborate with key business subject matter experts (SMEs) to refine data strategies and progress the digital roadmap. Furthermore, this role will facilitate continuous improvements in the data engineering processes while closely engaging with PLM solution architects. This role should have a comprehensive understanding of user needs and the expected business impact, delivering solutions that enhance operational efficiency and improve essential metrics, specifically aimed at optimizing MedTech R&D within the R&D Product Lifecycle Management domain. This role is a critical enabler of MedTech R&D digital transformation in the space of PLM, ensuring that data and integration capabilities unlock faster innovation, improved compliance, and better patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Engineering or related field highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in software development, data engineering, or a related technical domain.
  • Demonstrable experience leading teams of employees and/or contractors, including goal setting and career development.
  • Demonstrable experience leading multiple global efforts with time & cost related constraints in a fast-paced regulated environment.
  • Proven experience leading technical teams and managing projects.
  • Integration technologies (APIs, middleware, event-driven architectures).
  • Proficiency in ETL processes and tools (e.g., Alteryx, Informatica).
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, data engineering concepts, and data migration strategies.
  • Familiarity with database technologies (e.g., SQL OracleOracle, NoSQL etc) for structured and unstructured data.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or SQL.
  • Experience with software version control systems and CI/CD tools (e.g., BitBucket).
  • Knowledge of software development best practices, design patterns, and architecture principles.
  • Skills in data profiling, data cleansing, and implementing data quality metrics and monitoring systems.
  • Knowledge of PLM applications – especially proficiency in PTC Windchill.
  • Awareness of regulatory requirements associated with GxP data handling and the implications for data integrity, audit trails, and documentation.
  • Understanding of Agile principles and practices, particularly within the SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) context.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and coach team members.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing external vendor relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain data standards, metadata, and master data models to ensure consistency, traceability, and compliance.
  • Lead the Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) development by leveraging comprehensive knowledge of data engineering processes and technologies.
  • Own PLM data transformations across upstream/downstream systems (e.g., ERP/MES/QMS/DWH), including source-to-target mapping, business rule implementation, normalization/standardization, validation and reconciliation controls, performance tuning, and monitoring/alerting to ensure end-to-end data quality and integrity.
  • Execute the data migration ETL and planned rehearsals to support the MT PLM deployment roadmap effectively.
  • Establish and maintain integration standards to ensure consistency, standardization and simplification.
  • Lead the design and implementation of integration architectures across PLM, QMS, ERP, Regulatory, and other core systems.
  • Drive adoption of modern integration patterns (APIs, events, middleware, data pipelines) to enable real-time and scalable data exchange.
  • Ensure interoperability of systems to support end-to-end product lifecycle processes and regulatory traceability.
  • Ensure the code developed by squads is of high quality, well-documented, and adheres to Johnson & Johnson standards.
  • Mentor and coach team members on best practices and principles, including through code reviews.
  • Oversee the quality of technical deliverables from external vendors as necessary.
  • Manage the deployment of the codebase from development to QA to Production, driving end-to-end testing to ensure solution quality.
  • Enhance operational efficiency by introducing automation tools and scripts to the data migration processes.
  • Support the Technical Product Owner and Product Analyst in defining user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Provide input on resource allocation to address critical bottlenecks and assist in onboarding new squad engineers.
  • Collaborate with business PLM subject matter experts and Windchill Solution Architects to understand the data & integration needs and enable business processes.
  • Strong collaboration with the architecture chapter to ensure adherence to standards, and provide input based on business needs in the space of PLM.
  • Work with other Lead Engineers/squads to manage risks, and to solve, escalate, and track cross-squad dependencies and impediments.
  • Guide squad engineers in building and maintaining software, assisting them in resolving technical challenges and implementing solutions for meeting data & integration needs.
  • Develop capabilities in integration engineering, data architecture, and lifecycle data management in strong partnership with some of the cross functional teams being architecture, Supply Chain, Quality, Global MedTech Data office.
