About The Position

We are searching for the best talent for a Manager, Technical Platform Owner PLM to be located in Raritan, NJ. Position Summary: The individual in this role will lead the strategy, delivery, and operational performance of Windchill-based Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) platform operations supporting MedTech. This role is accountable for ensuring the platform is scalable and reliable while driving continuous improvement and measurable business outcomes. The position provides managerial oversight and governance for end-to-end implementation and operation of the Windchill platform, including solution architecture alignment, system configuration standards, deployment readiness, and production support for multi-node environments. This role partners with Quality, Validation, Security, and Enterprise Architecture to ensure the platform operating model, controls, and documentation meet regulatory and audit expectations. The role includes defining and advancing platform strategy and multi-year roadmaps, prioritizing investments across reliability, scalability, user experience, and compliance. The role leads and develops a team of engineers and/or managed service partners, establishes standards and ways of working (including SAFe Agile delivery), and drives automation, standardization, observability, and operational maturity through cloud-native services and enterprise monitoring tools. This position influences and aligns senior stakeholders across OpCos and functions, ensures delivery commitments are met, and is accountable for risk management, vendor performance, and overall service health.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience delivering and operating Windchill PLM (or comparable enterprise PLM) in a regulated/validated environment.
  • 3+ years of people leadership and/or delivery management experience leading engineers and/or managed service partners (hiring, coaching, performance management, and team development).
  • Demonstrated ability to own platform governance (configuration standards, access controls, change control, validation documentation) and drive audit-ready outcomes.
  • Experience managing service health in production (incident/problem management, RCA, resiliency, observability, and continuous improvement) for enterprise scale business-critical platforms.
  • Experience leveraging observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace) to drive proactive operations and automation.
  • Experience operating AWS-based or cloud-hosted enterprise platforms, including security and resiliency patterns appropriate for regulated environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including ability to present tradeoffs, risks, and roadmaps to senior business and IT leaders.
  • Working knowledge of Agile delivery practices (preferably SAFe) and modern DevOps tooling (version control, work tracking, CI/CD, and technical documentation platforms).
  • Experience in MedTech, Life Sciences, or other regulated R&D environments supporting validated systems
  • Demonstrates AI Fluency—the ability to use and evaluate AI technologies responsibly (with a primary focus on generative AI in the workplace)—to improve productivity and decision quality while maintaining human accountability, managing risk, and complying with applicable governance, privacy, security, and policy requirements

Responsibilities

  • Lead the engineering, design, and continuous evolution of the Windchill-based PLM platform, ensuring robust, scalable, and secure system architecture while driving engineering excellence, automation, and modern DevOps practice
  • Own the Windchill platform systems strategy and roadmap, aligned to business outcomes, compliance expectations, and enterprise architecture.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team and/or managed service partners; set expectations, coach technical growth, drive performance, and ensure effective on-call and support coverage.
  • Establish and enforce platform governance (configuration standards, lifecycle management, access controls, validation approach, and change control) in partnership with Quality, Validation, Security, and Architecture.
  • Provide oversight for OpCo onboarding and migration programs, including intake, planning, resourcing, data migration readiness, cutover governance, and post-migration stabilization.
  • Own service health and operational excellence for the platform (availability, incident/problem management, observability, automation, capacity, and resiliency) and drive root-cause remediation with measurable improvements.
  • Provide on-call support both on and off business hours, lead incident triage and restoration, and drive root-cause analysis with corrective and preventive actions
  • Lead upgrade and environment lifecycle planning (Windchill/ThingWorx releases, patching, infrastructure modernization), ensuring risk-based execution, validation alignment, and minimal business disruption.
  • Partner with Product Owners, business leaders, and architects to manage demand, plan delivery, and communicate status, risks, and tradeoffs to stakeholders and leadership forums.
  • Evaluate, pilot, and scale technology improvements that increase platform capability, reduce operational risk, and improve cost efficiency (e.g., cloud services, monitoring/observability, and AI-enabled automation).
  • Own platform financial management, including forecasting, budget stewardship, license and hosting cost optimization, and KPI-driven governance of consumption and spend.
  • Manage vendors and service partners to defined SLAs, delivery outcomes, and compliance requirements; ensure contracts, escalation paths, and performance reviews are in place.
  • Lead planning and execution within the Agile delivery model (e.g., SAFe), including intake, prioritization, capacity planning, dependency management, and delivery governance across teams.
  • Build team capability through coaching, training plans, and communities of practice; establish engineering standards for SDLC, DevOps, deployment, and migration execution.
  • Ensure audit readiness and regulatory compliance by owning validation strategy alignment, documentation standards, and operational controls for medical device development systems.
