Mackin TalentRedmond, WA
$110,000

About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Technical Procurement Coordinator to manage the end-to-end procurement lifecycle for custom-engineered components. This role bridges engineering and supply chain by interpreting CAD drawings and models, coordinating with multiple suppliers, and ensuring on-time delivery of critical parts. The ideal candidate combines technical fluency with strong organizational skills and a drive to streamline processes through automation.

Requirements

  • Experience in technical procurement, supply chain coordination, or purchasing of custom/machined parts
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings and 3D models (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes (CNC, sheet metal, injection molding, etc.) and DFM principles
  • Strong communication skills for managing supplier relationships and cross-functional technical discussions
  • Highly organized with proven ability to track multiple orders and timelines simultaneously
  • Comfort with or enthusiasm for AI tools, scripting (e.g., Python, Excel macros), and workflow automation
  • Self-directed and curious; thrives in fast-paced lab environments where needs aren't always formally defined — proactively observes operations, identifies gaps, and drives improvements without waiting for direction.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or industrial technology
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and procurement platforms
  • Track record of implementing process improvements or automation in a procurement or operations environment

Responsibilities

  • Source, order, track, and expedite custom parts across multiple suppliers, ensuring accuracy against CAD drawings and 3D models.
  • Resolve technical questions from suppliers related to part specifications, tolerances, and materials; serve as the liaison between engineering and the supply base.
  • Participate in DFM conversations with engineering and suppliers to ensure designs are producible, cost-effective, and aligned with supplier capabilities.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate delivery risks; escalate and expedite critical-path components to protect project timelines.
  • Leverage AI tools, scripts, and automation to reduce repetitive procurement tasks (e.g., order tracking, status reporting, data entry) and continuously improve workflows.

Benefits

  • major medical carrier
  • 15 days of PTO plus Holiday and Sick pay
  • paid volunteer hours
  • paternity/maternity leave
