About The Position

Entry level role to specific production area process engineering. This position involves calibrating laboratory hardware daily, performing routine inventory, and conducting laboratory testing for Product Development projects. The role also includes coordinating and documenting Product Development trials, updating laboratory procedures and systems, and providing technical support to production department engineers and managers. Active involvement in paper quality audits and evaluations is expected. Non-business hours may be required to support operations and trials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or Electromechanical engineering required.
  • 3.0 core GPA minimum required.
  • Must be able to stand for 8-12 hours daily.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Extensive knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn the paper production processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to serve as a liaison with developers, project managers, and customer support.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient in CAD, SolidWorks, or similar software.
  • Able to work independently and seek out new problems or opportunities as operational knowledge increases.

Responsibilities

  • Report to Technical Director.
  • Calibrate laboratory hardware daily and perform routine inventory.
  • Perform laboratory testing for Product Development projects.
  • Coordinate/document Product Development trials.
  • Update documentation of laboratory procedures and systems as changes are made/added.
  • Provide technical support to the production department engineers and managers as needed.
  • Active involvement in paper quality audits and evaluations.
  • Support operations and trials during non-business hours as required.
