The Technical Practitioner will support the full lifecycle of an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system implementation across multiple medical centers. The Practitioner is responsible for performing/organizing discovery efforts at various hospitals & clinics (i.e. sites) related to End User Devices (EUDs), interfaced systems, & Data Drops & Power Outlets (DDPO) and will then perform post discovery analysis to inform technical scope and requirements. Building an understanding of the client's list of standard capabilities, devices, and interfaces is essential to perform meaningful discovery and gap analysis.

Requirements

  • Candidates must be based in California
  • Semi-frequent travel expected to hospitals and clinics in various geographies
  • Significant client interaction is expected
  • Previous hospital/clinic assessment experience
  • Familiarity with system interfaces & medical device interfaces
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical, clinical and operational project teams while managing multiple tasks independently
  • Ability to learn and execute without continuous direction
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Project, PowerPoint)
  • The ability to travel is an essential function of this role and may vary based on client, enterprise or project needs, with frequent travel to client sites nationwide
  • Must be a United States Citizen
  • Candidates must comply with applicable client requirements, such as immunization and occupational health mandates

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Oracle EHR (or similar vendors) is preferred
  • Experience with Oracle Health EHR systems, including large-scale implementations or deployments
  • Previous Federal consulting or experience working within the DoD, Veteran’s Health Administration (VHA) or Military Hospital System (MHS)

Responsibilities

  • Performing/organizing discovery efforts at various hospitals & clinics (i.e. sites) related to End User Devices (EUDs), interfaced systems, & Data Drops & Power Outlets (DDPO)
  • Performing post discovery analysis to inform technical scope and requirements
  • Supporting device procurement tracking & logistics
  • Owning relationships with local site IT leaders and other technology / network / engineering groups
  • Supporting the technical readiness of a transition to a new EHR
  • External vendor management/coordination
  • Cutover planning & support
  • Project management of engineering activities
