About The Position

Parsons is looking for a technical oversight quality consultant to join their team, assisting the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA Metro) in implementing their quality management system (QMS). The QMS is crucial for ensuring the quality of design and construction for LA Metro's capital projects, which include subway trains, light rail trains, bus rapid transit, portal/turnback facilities, and stations. This role requires the individual to be on-site five days a week in Los Angeles. The successful candidate will receive training to become an expert in Parsons' software, PAR-PRO®, which is deployed on the project and has several modules used by LA Metro for QMS implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of experience as a technical consultant in a related industry

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the project manager in implementing contract requirements, providing local assistance in Los Angeles for a PM based in Denver, Colorado.
  • Acting as a quality management oversight coordinator for the LA Metro North Hollywood Bus Rapid Transit project.
  • Working closely with the LA Metro quality manager.
  • Promoting the implementation of the LA Metro QMS.
  • Assisting the quality manager with program implementation.
  • Conducting audits or assessments of designers and constructors.
  • Preparing monthly quality reports.
  • Preparing quarterly quality reviews.
  • Training personnel in the QMS.
  • Helping users with PAR-PRO®.
  • Attending biweekly meetings at LA Metro quality department headquarters in downtown LA.
  • Administering PAR-PRO® software, including adding new users, troubleshooting bugs, working with developers to fix issues, testing enhancements, training users, and responding to Help Desk tickets.
  • Extracting requirements from documents and uploading them to the PAR-PRO® database, which contains contractual requirements used in assessments and workflows between LA Metro, designers, and contractors.
  • Identifying business opportunities with LA Metro.
