About The Position

The Technical Outside Sales Manager serves as a trusted technical advisor to customers while aggressively developing new accounts, applications, and design-in opportunities, with strong potential to grow into broader commercial leadership. You will own the pursuit and conversion of new business opportunities through consultative, technical selling.

Requirements

  • The Technical Outside Sales Manager will be expected to demonstrate measurable impact on new business development and growth of existing accounts within the first 12 months.
  • Bachelor's Degree required in Engineering, Business or related field
  • Up to 25% anticipated travel
  • Strong technical foundation (engineering degree or equivalent experience) with the ability to engage credibly with engineers and technical buyers.
  • Demonstrated aptitude or experience in B2B sales, business development, or consultative technical selling.
  • High-energy, competitive mindset with a clear drive to win new business and exceed sales targets.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, value-based customer solutions.
  • Coachable, self-motivated, and eager to grow into broader sales or commercial leadership roles.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities with OEMs and industrial customers through proactive prospecting and in-person engagement.
  • Own the full sales cycle, from opportunity qualification and technical discovery through proposal, negotiation, and close.
  • Apply technical knowledge to translate customer requirements into effective product, enclosure, or system solutions.
  • Conduct regular customer visits to uncover application needs, influence early design decisions, and build long-term relationships.
  • Collaborate closely with internal engineering, operations, and quoting teams to deliver technically sound and commercially competitive solutions.
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline, providing accurate forecasts and activity updates via CRM tools.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, customer meetings, and industry events to generate leads and expand market presence.
