About The Position

The Senior Manager, Technical Marketing – Medical Products is responsible for developing and executing the technology roadmap for Advanced Energy's Medical Product Business Unit. This role serves as the critical bridge between customers, product management, and global R&D teams to identify emerging market needs, translate customer requirements into technology strategies, and drive the development of differentiated power and energy solutions for medical OEMs. The position leads strategic customer engagement, technology planning, and cross-functional execution activities that align innovation investments with business objectives. The successful candidate combines deep technical acumen, customer-facing leadership, and strategic marketing expertise to accelerate growth and strengthen Advanced Energy's position in the medical technology market.

Requirements

  • Deep technical expertise in power electronics, power conversion systems, RF power, or closely related technologies, developed through hands-on engineering or applications experience.
  • Proven ability to identify unmet customer needs, influence product architectures and technology decisions, and translate customer requirements into product and technology roadmaps.
  • Strong understanding of technology roadmap development, portfolio strategy, and new product development processes.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively with both engineering and executive audiences.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering, systems engineering, field applications engineering (FAE), technical marketing, product management, or related technical leadership roles.
  • Experience in design engineering, systems engineering, FAE, or a comparable customer-facing technical role requiring direct engagement with engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives involving engineering, product management, and business stakeholders.
  • Experience working in regulated medical device markets.
  • Track record of influencing customer product designs, system architectures, or technology strategies that resulted in design wins or product adoption.
  • Experience supporting medical OEMs or other highly engineered technology customers.
  • Global experience collaborating with geographically distributed engineering and product teams.
  • Experience leading long-range technology planning, advanced development programs, or innovation initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the Medical Products technology roadmap, ensuring alignment with customer needs, market trends, and business strategy.
  • Collaborate directly with customers to understand future product requirements, technology challenges, and innovation opportunities.
  • Partner with global R&D, engineering, and product management teams to define and prioritize technology development initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional roadmap reviews and establish alignment across engineering, operations, sales, marketing, and executive leadership.
  • Develop business cases and technology investment recommendations to support long-term growth objectives.
  • Identify emerging technologies, competitive developments, and industry trends impacting medical device manufacturers.
  • Support key customer engagements, including executive-level presentations, technical workshops, and strategic planning sessions.
  • Guide product positioning and value propositions for new technologies and platform solutions.
  • Work closely with sales teams to support strategic opportunities, RFQs, and customer technology discussions.
  • Establish roadmap metrics and tracking mechanisms to measure progress, technology adoption, and strategic impact.
  • Mentor and influence cross-functional teams while driving accountability for strategic initiatives.
