About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated intern to join our DNA Purification Department. The intern will work in close collaboration with the commercialization manager, research staff, and marketing team to support the development of promotional and technical content for our DNA Purification products. The ideal candidate for this internship is interested in learning how to plan, develop, and create marketing materials for technical life science products. This individual is eager to learn, able to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team, and comfortable contributing ideas in team discussions and meetings. The ideal candidate has a scientific background in molecular biology, strong communication skills, and an interest in scientific writing, marketing, or product commercialization. Previous hands-on experience with nucleic acid purification, PCR, cloning, sequencing, transformation, or transfection is beneficial but not required. As a Technical Marketing Intern at Zymo Research, you will have the opportunity to work with multidisciplinary teams of scientists and marketing professionals to support the development of technical content that contributes to product and brand awareness, customer education, and sales enablement. You will gain hands-on experience in technical marketing while being encouraged to explore new ideas and channels to support DNA purification product initiatives. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, or a related field
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and functions
  • Interest in scientific communication, marketing, or life science product commercialization

Nice To Haves

  • Academic or laboratory experience in molecular biology techniques is preferred
  • Previous hands-on experience with nucleic acid purification, PCR, cloning, sequencing, transformation, or transfection is beneficial but not required
  • Prior marketing, communications, or industry experience is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Assist with writing and editing copy for digital and print marketing collateral
  • Help create and format technical figures and tables for customer-facing content
  • Support the development of technical seminars, white papers, application notes, videos, posters, and training materials
  • Review and summarize scientific literature to support technical content development
  • Assist the marketing team with layout, organization, and design of promotional materials
  • Occasionally assist with wet lab experiments to support marketing initiatives (training provided)
  • Support content review for scientific accuracy and clarity
  • Assist with developing clear value propositions and messaging under guidance from the team
  • Support marketing campaign execution across channels, including email, online, social, and print
  • Help coordinate marketing initiatives and communicate with internal and external partners
  • Assist with tracking results and reviewing basic marketing analytics
