As a Technical Marketing Engineer, you will integrate deep technical expertise with industry insights to drive portfolio development and technical product strategy. You will act as a consultant to sales teams and customers, translating complex product features into compelling business initiatives and customer use cases. Your role is critical in validating product definitions, conducting proof-of-concepts, and crafting technical collateral that accelerates market adoption. Success in this role is defined by your ability to articulate customer needs into technical requirements, deliver high-impact product demonstrations, and effectively navigate the competitive landscape to expand Cisco’s market share.

Requirements

  • Completion within the past 3 years, or current enrollment with expected completion within 12 months, of a certification or degree program (e.g., Associates, Apprenticeship, Boot Camp, or Certification in a specialized program + 3 years of relevant experience, High School Diploma + 4 years of relevant experience, Bachelors + 2 years of relevant experience) or Masters + 0 years of relevant experience.
  • Relevant fields include: Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Product Management, or related technical/business disciplines.
  • Basic knowledge of generic networking and/or optical transmission concepts, gained through university coursework or exams, lab activities, academic projects, internships, or limited work experience.
  • Examples may include routing, switching, optical communication fundamentals, transmission systems, or related networking/telecommunication technologies.
