About The Position

Reporting to the General Manager, the Technical Manager has overall responsibility for the operations and profitability of the business for the functional area(s) they are assigned. This role involves maintaining and repairing arcade games, bowling equipment, and facility systems, as well as leading a technical team. The Technical Manager is responsible for ensuring optimal performance, guest experience, and safety across all assigned areas, while also managing budgets and reporting on key performance indicators.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year experience with arcade game repair, Bowling machine repair or electronics and mechanical repair.
  • General knowledge of and skill on the repair and maintenance of automated bowling equipment and amusement systems.
  • General knowledge of related OSHA regulations and safety practices.
  • Must be able to provide excellent Guest Service.
  • Must have excellent time management & follow-up skills necessary to perform in a fast paced, high-volume environment.
  • Must have the ability to hold the team accountable, but also motivate and coach the team to strive to be the best.
  • Demonstrate a leadership style that creates a positive working environment.
  • Hold a great sense of responsibility in keeping the games and bowling up and running, but can also delegate tasks effectively to your team.
  • Skill in the practical application of electronics, mechanics and hydraulics; in the use and maintenance of tools and equipment of the trade.
  • Ability to wear and work in personal protective equipment; to work on fixed equipment.
  • Lift/carry up to 50 pounds; maneuver games and parts up to 500 lbs.
  • Ability to manipulate heavy equipment, tools and supplies and/or exert force up to 250 pounds; to concurrently manipulate multiple controls on machinery and equipment; read and write handwritten documentation.
  • Must be able to provide authorization to work in the US - we use Everify.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair games, attractions, facility equipment, IT systems, spare parts inventory, and debit card reader systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct regular preventative maintenance, troubleshoot technical issues, and uphold cleanliness standards to enhance guest experience and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain and repair bowling lanes, pinsetters, ball returns, and related equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
  • Perform routine inspections, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, and conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and enhance the customer experience.
  • Maintain the facility by assisting in repairs where possible and inspecting the compliance of preventative maintenance vendors and contracts.
  • Disassemble, replace and repair mechanical and electrical components or parts such as bearings, coils, armatures and wiring.
  • Operate hand and power tools and general testing equipment.
  • Coordinate the installation, setup and/or decommissioning of arcade games, attraction and related equipment.
  • Ensure proper wiring, calibration, and software configuration while adhering to safety and operational guidelines.
  • Demonstrate a "safety" mindset by addressing any potential hazard appropriately and timely and always following safety protocols in the repair of games/equipment.
  • Develop and mentor Game Technicians through goal-setting and coaching.
  • Oversee all personnel actions, including hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
  • Foster teamwork by actively collaborating with staff and participating in facility management meetings to communicate key updates on games and attractions to management.
  • Oversee all business and technical aspects of the Technical Department including generating reports for games and attractions (revenue, preventative maintenance, down game reports).
  • Track and manage game payouts to company expectations.
  • Update inventory records, order supplies and materials, check in deliveries, and work with the General Manager to ensure all invoices are received for processing.
  • Manage profit & loss responsibilities for technical repair, maintenance cost centers, and tech labor budgets.
  • Oversee expenditures, optimize cost efficiency, and ensure alignment with financial goals.
  • Perform other venue operational and/or maintenance tasks as assigned.
