We are seeking an experienced Technical Maintenance Mechanic to join our maintenance team in a fast-paced warehouse and distribution environment. This role is responsible for advanced troubleshooting, repair, installation, and preventive maintenance of conveyor systems, material handling equipment, and facility support equipment. The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, extensive experience with conveyor systems, and the ability to diagnose complex equipment failures. This position serves as a technical resource within the maintenance team and plays a key role in improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and supporting safe operations.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or automated material handling environment.
  • Extensive experience troubleshooting and repairing conveyor systems.
  • Strong knowledge of: Conveyors and sortation systems, Motors and gearboxes, Bearings, chains, belts, and rollers, Pneumatic and hydraulic systems, Electrical systems and VFDs
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
  • Experience using troubleshooting and diagnostic tools including multimeters and precision measuring instruments.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with automated warehouse systems, ASRS, shuttles, lifts, AGVs/AMRs, or advanced sortation systems.
  • Previous CMMS experience (SAP PM, Maximo, Fiix, or similar).
  • Electrical certification.
  • OSHA 10/30, NFPA 70E, or Lockout/Tagout training.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic controls-related issues on material handling equipment.
  • Maintain and repair conveyor systems, sortation equipment, gearboxes, motors, VFDs, sensors, bearings, chains, belts, rollers, actuators, cylinders, and other associated components.
  • Troubleshoot and repair facility equipment including balers, carton sealers, air compressors, dock equipment, and other warehouse support systems.
  • Observe equipment in operation, identify root causes of mechanical failures, and implement corrective solutions.
  • Dismantle, inspect, repair, rebuild, or replace defective equipment and components as needed.
  • Test equipment following repairs to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities in accordance with established schedules and procedures.
  • Inspect equipment to identify wear patterns, misalignment, lubrication deficiencies, contamination, and potential failures before breakdowns occur.
  • Perform equipment adjustments, alignments, lubrication, component replacements, and reliability improvements.
  • Recommend and implement maintenance process improvements that enhance equipment performance and uptime.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including motors, motor controls, contactors, relays, sensors, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
  • Support troubleshooting of automated material handling equipment and control systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and mechanical drawings.
  • Escalate complex PLC and controls issues when higher-level programming support is required.
  • Assist with installation, commissioning, and modification of conveyor systems and facility equipment.
  • Participate in root cause analysis activities to identify and eliminate recurring equipment failures.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Maintenance Mechanics and newer technicians.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair documentation, and work order completion in the CMMS.
  • Document labor, parts usage, equipment failures, and corrective actions.
  • Monitor spare parts inventory and coordinate replacement part requirements.
  • Assist with identifying, ordering, and tracking maintenance parts and materials.
  • Follow all OSHA, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, and facility safety requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Participate in safety inspections, audits, and incident prevention initiatives.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company policies and procedures.
