When you join our team, you earn your edge every day, and we make sure it pays off Role Mission The Technical Learning & Development Manger builds and delivers hands-on, field driven training programs that elevate the performance of Hewitt Young's workforce. This role is responsible for turning real-world construction knowledge into structed, scalable training while also personally delivering instruction to foremen, field leaders, and project teams.

Requirements

  • 5 years minimum in construction or related trade
  • Proven ability to trach, train, or mentor field teams
  • Deep understanding of construction operations, jobsite execution, and field workflows
  • Strong presence and communication skills
  • Experience building or contributing to training programs, SOPs, or workforce development initiatives
  • Ability to translate field knowledge into structured, repeatable training content
  • Comfortable working across both field and office environments
  • Experience with LMS platforms or training systems
  • Analytical mindset with ability to connect training efforts to measurable performance outcomes
  • Willingness to travel to jobsites and company locations as needed

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver hands on training for foremen, field teams, and project staff across construction operations (means & methods, planning, execution, quality, ect.)
  • Lead in person field trainings, workshops, and jobsite coaching, ensuring adoption of best practices in real time
  • Translate real world field experience into structed training programs, playbooks, and standard operating procedures
  • Build and implement foreman and field leadership development programs focused on execution, leadership, and accountability
  • Partner with Operations, safety, and leadership to identify skill gaps, performance issues, and training opportunities
  • Develop career pathing and progression frameworks
  • Implement and manage Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Track and report on training effectiveness tied to real job performance
  • Serve as a trusted resource and coach to filed leaders
  • Represent Hewitt Young in partnerships with trade schools, apprenticeship programs, and workforce development organizations
