Technical leaders concentrate on the technical aspects of the production process, verifying correct setup and changeover, resolving production or equipment problems and reviewing quality of work. This role assists with product changeover and sets up production equipment, verifies the functionality of safety equipment, and troubleshoots problems with equipment, devices, or products. The Technical Leader monitors and adjusts production processes or equipment for quality and productivity, inspects production for quality and adherence to customer specifications, and monitors SPC charts and uses precision measuring instruments to perform quality checks. They maintain inventory of job materials, ensure operators have adequate raw materials and supplies, and confirm the correct entry of computer input of ticket information. Additionally, they provide production, progress, or changeover reports to shift supervisors, write work orders, and update journals at the end of the shift. This role also involves training operators as needed, measuring and recording data associated with operating equipment, and operating production equipment when needed. They may assist engineers in developing, building, or testing prototypes or new products, processes, or procedures. The Technical Leader also participates in PM (Preventive Maintenance), MMOL (Machine Maintenance Operator Leader), and G5S (Global 5S: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain), and Kaizen activities, as needed, and follows all EMS (Environmental Management System) procedures, including the disposal of waste and used materials. This job has no supervisory responsibilities and no direct reports.
