About The Position

CTG is seeking to fill a Technical Lead – Java, AWS, Kubernetes/EKS & Microservices position for our client. This is a remote, 10-month contract role. The Technical Lead will lead a team of developers in the design, development, and delivery of scalable microservices-based applications. They will serve as the primary technical point of contact for Product, Architecture, DevOps, and QA teams. Responsibilities include designing and building microservices using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and related frameworks, as well as architecting and managing containerized workloads on AWS EKS. The role also involves developing and deploying Apigee proxies, conducting technical design and code reviews, collaborating with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, and supporting CI/CD automation and cloud-native application deployments.

Requirements

Java 8/11/17+
Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Spring Security, and Spring Cloud
AWS and Kubernetes/Amazon EKS
Microservices architecture and containerized application development
Apache Kafka
CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Apigee API management and proxy development
Strong technical leadership, architecture, design, and code review skills
15+ years of software engineering experience.
4–5+ years of experience in a technical leadership role.
Strong hands-on experience designing and developing AWS and Kubernetes/EKS-based microservices architectures.
Proven experience leading development teams and delivering enterprise-scale applications.
Experience with cloud-native development, API management, CI/CD, and distributed systems.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of developers in the design, development, and delivery of scalable microservices-based applications.
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for Product, Architecture, DevOps, and QA teams.
Design and build microservices using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and related frameworks.
Architect and manage containerized workloads on AWS EKS, including deployments, services, ingress, and namespaces.
Develop and deploy Apigee proxies to support microservices and API integrations.
Conduct technical design and code reviews while enforcing engineering best practices, coding standards, and quality processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot technical issues and deliver reliable, scalable solutions.
Support CI/CD automation and cloud-native application deployments.
