Lead Java Software Engineer AWS / Spring Boot / Microservices

Seeking a Lead Software Engineer to provide technical leadership in designing, developing, testing, and deploying enterprise-scale digital platforms hosted on AWS. The role will focus on backend RESTful APIs and microservices while driving architecture, engineering best practices, and end-to-end software delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of software development experience.
- Strong experience with software development, product design, and architecture.
- Strong decision-making and critical-thinking skills.
- Extensive experience with Java 17+ and Spring Boot REST API development.
- Experience with API management/gateway platforms, preferably Apigee.
- Experience deploying and maintaining applications in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of RESTful APIs and microservices using Java 21+, Spring Boot, Apigee, and AWS.
- Architect API-first solutions, including service contracts, payload schemas, and OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.
- Translate business requirements into technical designs, user stories, and development tasks.
- Design secure service-to-service integrations using OAuth 2.0, JWT, and authorization models.
- Lead architecture decisions, technical design reviews, and code reviews.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, UI teams, architects, and partner development teams.
- Establish best practices for scalability, reliability, observability, security, and maintainability.
- Drive automated testing, performance testing, load testing, and production readiness.
- Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex production issues.
- Own the complete software lifecycle from design and development through deployment, monitoring, support, and continuous improvement.
- Create technical documentation, operational runbooks, and engineering standards.
