Responsibilities

  • Platform and Technical Leadership: Design, operate, and scale artifact management platforms such as JFrog Artifactory, Sonatype Nexus, or equivalent. Remain hands-on by contributing to platform configuration, automation, troubleshooting, and incident response. Own availability, performance, scalability, security, and cost efficiency of artifact platforms at enterprise scale. Design for high-throughput, bursty traffic and global usage while protecting platforms from abuse and overload.
  • Open Source and Supply Chain Security: Manage ingestion, storage, and distribution of open source and third-party packages. Implement software supply chain security controls including vulnerability scanning and policy enforcement. Ensure artifact provenance, integrity, and compliance with enterprise and regulatory requirements.
  • Scale, Cloud and Infrastructure: Architect and operate platforms handling very large volumes of artifacts, metadata, and requests. Apply deep understanding of compute, storage, network, IO, caching, and replication trade-offs. Lead or contribute to migrations from on-premises to cloud or hybrid architectures. Design for elastic scale, cost control, and operational simplicity in cloud environments.
  • Reliability, Resilience and Observability: Design and operate systems for high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery. Define and manage SLIs and SLOs for artifact platforms. Build strong monitoring, alerting, logging, and tracing to support rapid detection and recovery.
  • People and Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop a team of engineers responsible for artifact management platforms. Set clear technical direction, operational standards, and priorities.
