Technical Intern 3

BAE Systems•Broomfield, CO
•$27 - $36•Onsite

About The Position

The Technical Intern will participate in BAE Systems' nationwide LEAP Internship & Co-op Program, which offers opportunities to learn, engage, apply skills, progress within the company, work alongside experienced professionals on impactful projects, take part in career development, and network with business leaders and other students. On the Space Vehicle Simulators team within Space & Mission Systems, the intern will contribute to real-time simulations of BAE SMS space vehicles. The simulators are system prototypes supporting integration and test activities such as flight software development and test, risk-reduction integration, ground development, and operator training. The work combines software and hardware, with interest in both electronic circuit design and software development welcomed. The intern will work under experienced engineering staff in a fast-paced environment, participate in the full engineering life cycle, and deploy and test software and hardware in laboratory environments. The position also provides exposure to spacecraft subsystems and to team software development practices, including Agile methods, GitLab, coding standards, and DevSecOps pipelines. This is an on-site position requiring in-person work five days each normally scheduled week at the primary work location. Work may take place in an office, laboratory, production floor, cleanroom, outdoors, or a remote research environment. Occasional work in production areas requiring protective equipment may occur, and access to other facilities in various weather conditions may be required. Travel and local commuting between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may also be required.
