About The Position

This internship combines AI development, automation, and hands-on IT operations, providing exposure to both enterprise AI projects and day-to-day system administration activities. The role supports federal and commercial clients, focusing on AI-Driven Digital Transformation, Cloud and Infrastructure Modernization, Data Engineering and Advanced Analytics, Enterprise IT Modernization, and Mission-Focused Program and Change Management. The intern will work under the guidance of senior team members to support the design, development, testing, and implementation of AI-enabled applications, automations, and governance solutions.

Requirements

  • Coursework, academic projects, or personal projects demonstrating interest in AI/ML, generative AI, natural language processing, or software development.
  • Foundational programming skills in Python and familiarity with software development concepts such as APIs, debugging, version control, and testing.
  • Exposure to AI/ML tools, libraries, or platforms.
  • Interest in building LLM-based applications such as chatbots, copilots, search experiences, or workflow automations.
  • Basic understanding of cloud platforms, data handling, and prompt engineering concepts is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving ability, curiosity, and willingness to learn quickly in a fast-paced technical environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and deliver high-quality work in fast-paced environments.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with mentors and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple assignments, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Must be a current college or university student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in a relevant technical field.
  • Academic, research, hackathon, or personal project experience in software engineering, AI/ML, data science, or generative AI is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated interest in applying AI to real-world business, enterprise, or public sector use cases.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, web applications, or data/AI tooling through coursework or projects is a plus.

  • Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals or similar entry-level AI/cloud certification.
  • Relevant student credentials, bootcamps, or online coursework in AI/ML, cloud, or software development.
  • Participation in university labs, technical clubs, hackathons, or open-source projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, development, testing, and implementation of AI-enabled applications, automations, and governance solutions under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Assist with prototyping, developing, and evaluating AI models, workflows, integrations, and supporting data to enhance internal and client-facing solutions.
  • Contribute to software development, testing, debugging, documentation, reporting, and performance monitoring activities that support reliable AI solutions and informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to research, validate, and continuously improve AI capabilities, business processes, and user experiences.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teammates including engineering, product, and business stakeholders while learning software development best practices.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, demos, and presentations summarizing project progress, findings, and recommendations.
  • Follow secure coding and responsible AI practices appropriate for enterprise and federal environments.
  • Assist with basic IT and system administration tasks, including user account setup, laptop imaging, software installation, patch verification, and troubleshooting under the guidance of senior administrators.
  • Monitor Microsoft 365, endpoint security, and remote management dashboards and help document, investigate, and escalate issues related to alerts, non-compliant devices, and software update status.
  • Support SharePoint Online administration activities, including access requests, permissions updates, site maintenance, and document management tasks.
  • Assist with endpoint management and maintenance such as verifying antivirus status, patch deployment results, OneDrive backup health, and inventory tracking for company devices.
  • Help maintain IT operational documentation, including SOPs, troubleshooting notes, inventory records, and task trackers used for internal support and compliance activities.
  • Participate in cybersecurity and compliance support activities by reviewing routine security alerts, assisting with user access reviews, and supporting ISO/CMMI-related administrative tasks.
  • Assist with website, cloud, and infrastructure support tasks as assigned, including basic SharePoint, Azure, AWS, DNS, and hosting administration activities.
  • Contribute to automation initiatives by helping identify repetitive IT tasks and developing or testing PowerShell, Python, Power Automate, or AI-assisted workflows to improve operational efficiency.
  • Shadow and support system administrator on troubleshooting, maintenance, and modernization efforts while gaining hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, endpoint management, cloud services, and enterprise IT operations.
  • Provide general technical support for internal users, conference room technology, software issues, and other operational IT requests as needed.
