About The Position

This internship is for candidates who will be completing their Senior undergraduate year and will be enrolled in a graduate program prior to starting this full-time internship in summer 2027. The role is within the ES Defense Systems Engineering team at BAE Systems, Inc. Interns will work side-by-side with experienced engineers and senior engineering staff. The internship is paid and located on-site at BAE Systems' sites in southern New Hampshire (Nashua, Hudson, Manchester, and Merrimack). The work schedule includes every other Friday off. Interns will gain experience in designing, developing, and testing solutions using Agile methodologies and systems engineering principles, utilizing established systems engineering tools, assisting in integration testing, algorithm & data analysis, software troubleshooting, and preparing documentation. They will also work with other engineering disciplines like hardware and software teams. Participants will join BAE Systems' nationwide LEAP Internship & Co-op Program, which offers opportunities to work on impactful projects, engage in career development, and network with business leaders and other students. This specific position requires US citizenship status due to a government contract.

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in a graduate program for EE (Electrical Engineering), ECS (Electrical and Computer Science), ME (Mechanical Engineering), SW (Software Engineering) or a related field, and will complete your senior undergraduate year prior to Summer 2027
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Must be eligible for a US DoD security clearance
  • US citizenship status

Responsibilities
