About The Position

This is a full-time internship opportunity for candidates completing their Sophomore undergraduate year prior to starting in Summer 2027. The intern will join the ES Defense Systems Engineering team at BAE Systems, Inc. in southern New Hampshire (Nashua, Hudson, Manchester, and Merrimack). The role involves working alongside experienced engineers and senior engineering staff on designing, developing, and testing solutions using Agile methodologies and systems engineering principles. The intern will also gain experience in integration testing, algorithm & data analysis, software troubleshooting, and documentation preparation. Additionally, participants will engage in BAE Systems' nationwide LEAP Internship & Co-op Program, focusing on learning, engagement, application, and progression within the company. This program offers opportunities to work on impactful projects, engage in career development, and network with leaders and peers. This specific position requires US citizenship status due to a government contract.

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program for EE (Electrical Engineering), ECS (Electrical and Computer Science), ME (Mechanical Engineering), SW (Software Engineering) or a related field.
  • Will complete your sophomore year prior to Summer 2027.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Must be eligible for a US DoD security clearance.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing and testing solutions utilizing Agile methodologies and sound systems engineering principles while conforming to existing development strategies and processes.
  • Utilizing established systems engineering tools and assisting in other engineering activities such as integration testing, algorithm & data analysis, software troubleshooting, and preparing documentation in accordance with established procedures.
  • Working with other engineering disciplines such as hardware and software teams.
  • Participating in BAE Systems' nationwide LEAP Internship & Co-op Program, which includes learning, engagement, application, and progression opportunities.
  • Working alongside experienced professionals on impactful projects.
  • Engaging in career development opportunities.
