About The Position
This is a full-time, on-site internship position located at our Cedar Rapids, Iowa facility, running from June through mid-December 2027. The role is within the Navigation and Sensor Systems organization, which develops advanced military navigation systems. The internship is part of the BAE Systems' nationwide LEAP Internship & Co-op Program, designed for participants to Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress within the company. Interns will work alongside experienced professionals on impactful projects, engage in career development opportunities, and network with business leaders and other students.
Requirements
- Must be within or have completed your junior year of a four year degree program in a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Experience with schematic generation.
- Experience with basic test equipment like power supplies and digital multimeters.
- Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance.

- Familiar with schematic capture software.
- Experience with oscilloscopes and frequency generators.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with a hardware engineering team to support ground and airborne navigation products.
- Assist with capturing technical requirements.
- Create electrical design artifacts including schematics, printed circuit boards (PCB), and circuit card assemblies.
- Perform preliminary design and analysis activities.
- Support integration and verification testing.
- Generate and review electrical design documents, drawings, procedures, and reports.
- Assist in transitioning products to manufacturing and provide electrical design support.
- Support design and integration efforts with other engineering disciplines including mechanical, software, systems, and test engineering as necessary.
