About The Position

This position is contingent upon the successful award of a contract currently under bid. Nisga'a Tek provides intelligence, IT, cyber security, training, logistics, administrative, acquisition, and background investigation services. The role involves providing support and training services as a Technical Instructor Level 1 (Biomedical Equipment Technician) for the 326-68A10 Biomedical Equipment Technician Program. The instructor will create and maintain a positive learning environment, instruct students, and administer the course in coordination with Government instructors, adhering to criteria set by MEDCoE and the Program Director. Instruction will cover classroom and laboratory settings, utilizing approved course materials and methods to ensure students meet learning objectives. This includes preparing and conducting practical exercises, assisting with the development, setup, administration, and grading of written and practical examinations, and performing statistical analysis on exam results. Instruction may also be conducted virtually using platforms like Blackboard, Microsoft TEAMS, or ZOOM, requiring monitoring and response to student inquiries. Deliverables include student, course, and instructor evaluations.

Requirements

  • Be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Possess good interpersonal relationship skills necessary for establishing and maintaining a good learning and working environment with students and faculty.
  • Be capable of learning and utilizing current and emerging military and commercial technologies.
  • Be proficient with the Microsoft Windows 10 and Microsoft Office suite and incorporated programs to include Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Access; be proficient with photo editing software (specific item may vary).
  • Be able to troubleshoot basic computer hardware and software required for services being provided under each individual task order.
  • Able to stand and walk around classroom/laboratory for 2 hours continuously and intermittently for 2 hours.
  • Minimum Two years’ work experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician.
  • Instructor must be a graduate of the METCoE BMET Program or a graduate of a civilian equivalent program, must hold an associate degree and must have a minimum of two years of full-time work experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician.
  • Required to attend MEDCoE/Army/DoD specific training to include, but not limited to: Active Shooter, Ethics, Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP), Operations Security (OPSEC), Threat Awareness Reporting Program (TARP), Antiterrorism Level 1, Information Assurance Awareness Training, Privacy Act & HIPAA Operations, Instructor Training Course, and appropriate safety training.

  • Minimum two years of academic and experiential qualifications and backgrounds (identified in documented descriptions of roles and responsibilities) that are necessary to meet program objectives and the mission of the institution.
  • Documented expertise in their area(s) of teaching responsibility and knowledge of the content delivery method (e.g., distance learning).
  • Evidence of expertise in teaching assignments might include documentation of continuing professional development, relevant experience, faculty development plan reflecting acquisition of new content, incorporation of feedback from course evaluations, and other sources.

Responsibilities

  • Provide SME/scientific technical support that is technically accurate, insightful, and creative; contribute to technical scientific discussions in a manner that is positive contribution to group/teamwork.
  • Perform course administrative functions including maintaining student and course administrative records, organizing training materials, and identifying supply needs.
  • Perform typical training logistics activities such as using supplies and equipment in accordance with Plan of Instruction, maintaining the order and cleanliness of the training facility as needed, and assisting with setting up and moving furniture and equipment within the facility.
  • Submit required documentation aligned with accreditation requirements to include Student Assessments, Instructor Evaluations and Classroom administration documents.
  • Assist in development and updating instructional materials (such as lesson plans, student notes with illustrations, visual aids, and examinations) incorporating current technical subject matter, DoD doctrine, policies, guidelines, lessons learned, and current work practices into the instructional materials and training program in accordance with the Program of Instruction, policies, and guidelines provided.
