About The Position

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced Technical Infrastructure Program Manager to oversee data center infrastructure expansion projects in support of U.S. Government customers. This role involves leading cross-functional and technical teams through the entire project lifecycle, from conceptual design to deployment. The program manager will utilize strong judgment, negotiation, influencing, analytical, and leadership skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, manage capital budgets, optimize processes, design solutions, remove blockers, and accelerate project delivery. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional communicator with experience in tactical project management of highly technical initiatives, thriving in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Experience in managing data center infrastructure deployments is a plus. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in relevant fields who have transitioned to program management will have an advantage. This position requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of technical infrastructure management experience
  • Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies related to infrastructure (network, data center, hardware, software)
  • Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds
  • Fully competent in a variety of project management tools, methodologies and techniques for all phases of the project lifecycle
  • Demonstrated experience in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality and risk management, reporting and metric development/tracking
  • Experience with MS Office, MS Project and MS SharePoint
  • US Citizen
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in managing data center infrastructure deployments
  • Master's degree or above in engineering, management, or technology
  • 3+ years of directly managing and being responsible for multiple large projects
  • Experience with Tableau, KanBan, Playbook, SQL and systems integration

Responsibilities

  • Lead a matrixed team through influence in the execution of data center capacity projects.
  • Manage cost, schedule, and quality during all aspects of builds.
  • Identify risks early and take prompt action.
  • Balance ownership and hold partner teams to high standards of responsibility.
  • Leverage technical and project-focused backgrounds to deep dive issues and develop mitigations.
  • Ensure data center capacity is delivered ahead of customer demand.
  • Review demand forecasts for assigned regions to ensure future builds are triggered on time.
  • Ensure design reviews are effectively conducted.
  • Deep dive material delivery issues that threaten project schedules.
  • Resolve technical challenges uncovered through execution.
  • Work in corporate offices and on job sites depending on project status.
