About The Position

AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, ensuring customers have continuous access to the innovation they rely on. This role is for a Sr. Technical Infrastructure Program Manager within the AWS Non-Standard Infrastructure Global Delivery Team, focusing on driving non-standard infrastructure capacity delivery worldwide. The position involves leading cross-functional teams to develop and implement non-standard infrastructure designs, manage requirements, budgets, and project schedules, and improve fleet health. It requires long-range planning for complex, multi-year capacity delivery and capital improvement initiatives, as well as coordinating local efforts for global fleet optimization. The role collaborates across the entire AWS organization to address capacity constraints and drive projects from conception to deployment. The candidate will also be responsible for driving accountability, monitoring program health, and escalating issues to executive leadership. This role offers the opportunity to influence business-critical decisions at the forefront of emerging capabilities and services, requiring comfort with managing remote teams, assessing and mitigating risks, troubleshooting issues, removing bureaucratic barriers, and navigating uncertainty. Strong skills in building cross-functional teams, establishing trust, eliminating non-value-add activity, designing solutions, removing blockers, and accelerating project delivery are essential. The candidate must act independently, use good judgment, and deliver high-quality results.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of program management or technical project management experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and execution of regional capacity scaling strategies for multiple non-standard infrastructure programs
  • Work with regional capacity delivery teams to plan deployment and scaling activities
  • Coordinate project activities with other relevant projects to gain both cost and execution efficiencies
  • Solve problems and remove blockers to timely capacity delivery
  • Identify opportunities to invent and simplify processes, identifying business risks and implementing resolutions and scalable mechanisms
  • Communicate ideas to a wide variety of stakeholders for purposes ranging from informative to need for approvals from executives
  • Determine process health metrics and key performance indicators and develop data visualization reports illustrating process health
  • Develop and implement scalable, data-driven process improvements
  • Develop standard operating procedures, change/communication plans, and project/program-level status updates
  • Drive adoption with internal stakeholders through effective change management
  • Keep the customer experience as the primary focus
