About The Position

AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, ensuring customers have continuous access to the innovation they rely on. This role is part of a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers. The position offers the opportunity to collaborate across AWS to maintain high standards of safety and security while providing capacity at the lowest possible cost. This role plays a key part in operational improvement within Amazon Web Services, reporting to the Data Center Delivery Business Operations Manager. The Data Center Delivery Business Operations team is looking for a skilled Technical Infrastructure Program Manager to drive the development of durable and reliable data-informed processes within AWS Infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience managing global infrastructure projects/programs, monitoring project health metrics, leading cross-functional teams, implementing change management plans, training, mentoring, and driving process improvements. This role focuses on global data center inventory and power topology accuracy, involving the organization and management of continuous improvement and automation initiatives, and developing scalable, data-driven processes.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of technical infrastructure management experience
  • Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds
  • Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies, related to infrastructure (i.e. network, data center, hardware, software)
  • Bachelor's degree, or Master's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or a relevant engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of working in a data center or other mission critical environment with an emphasis on building and equipment operation experience

Responsibilities

  • Work with stakeholders to define requirements and processes.
  • Manage the dependencies and the interfaces between projects and/or project deliverables, and negotiate any needed trade-offs.
  • Provide program progress reporting on a regular basis.
  • End to end responsibility for the program’s execution and success.
  • Manage multiple competing projects/programs simultaneously.
  • Run meetings, create and maintain timelines, and keep large, diverse groups informed of progress and obstacles.
  • Ensure consistency in deployed configurations and track exceptions for follow up.
  • Develop and implement scalable, data-driven process improvement/automated solutions.
  • Assist in daily operational tasks as part of the overall Data Center Delivery workflow.
