About The Position

Xometry is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Technical Engineering Advisor / DFM Engineer to support product development and manufacturing processes. This role involves acting as a key link between customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure the manufacturability of designs and their successful transition into production.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in CNC machining and/or sheet metal manufacturing
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (CNC, sheet metal fabrication)
• Experience working with technical drawings and design-related problem solving
• Fluent and professional English
• Fluent and professional German
• Customer-oriented mindset
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• High attention to detail
• Strong understanding of customer needs
• Ability to adapt across different industries

Responsibilities

• Perform routine Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews for high-end customer orders
• Analyze and support optimization of part designs to ensure manufacturability
• Conduct customer communication via phone and video calls regarding design and production issues
• Maintain written communication with customers for problem-solving and technical clarification
• Collaborate with partners and suppliers (written, phone, video) to resolve manufacturability challenges
• Provide expertise in complaint handling (excluding formal RMA cases)
• Support continuous improvement of manufacturing and engineering processes
• Ensure clear and timely resolution of technical production issues
