About The Position

V2X is seeking a Technical Editor/Writer supporting work located at Shemya, Alaska. The exciting task is to evaluate documentation and determine preventive maintenance requirements, document maintenance practices, and update real property documents support the COBRA DANE radar. Knowledge in operations, test, and repair processes for facilities equipment including air conditioning, refrigeration, demineralized water, compressed air, control systems, radar cooling systems, auxiliary systems and ventilation equipment systems throughout the facility. This is a remote assignment. Contingent on contract award The qualified candidate will act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) to review manufacturers’ operations manuals for newly commissioned equipment included in a cooling project.  This review will outline the theory of operation and recommended maintenance procedures in order to develop operating instructions (OI), maintenance procedures and periodic maintenance guidelines.  The SME reports directly to the operations manager.  The SME will also work with other technicians and engineers in support of this effort. Shall perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience with COBRA DANE facility systems
  • Operation, maintenance and repair of industrial type refrigeration, ventilation and air conditioning equipment and industrial electrical systems and equipment
  • Journeyman or equivalent experience in repair and modification of electrical and electronic equipment and systems associated with distribution, utilization, and control systems of electrical power
  • Ability to read and understand design drawings, specifications, and vendor technical documentation related to high volume liquid circulation cooling systems
  • General computer experience with basic knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to communicate clearly in both verbal and written formats regarding technical issues
  • High School graduate
  • Completion of an accredited electrician’s trade school or equivalent
  • Completion of courses in refrigeration, control circuits, and protective devices
  • Military schools and experience accepted in lieu of trade school

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in using AutoCAD programs
  • Historical knowledge of COBRA DANE facilities systems
  • Maintenance of Real Property Installed Equipment (RPIE) and associated processes
  • Electrical system design and power requirements
  • Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning system design
  • Chiller system design and operation
  • Demineralized water system design and operation
  • Preventative maintenance procedures
  • Process safety management
