About The Position

The Technical Documentation Specialist develops, edits, formats, organizes, and maintains technical and business documentation for Standard Nuclear. This role supports procedures, work instructions, controlled documents, reports, presentations, published materials, and other company documentation used across engineering, manufacturing, quality, business development, and leadership functions. This position also provides backup support for document control activities, including document formatting, routing, release, version control, metadata updates, records organization, and document management system support. The role helps ensure documents are accurate, professional, properly controlled, easy to find, and aligned with company standards. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, strong with written communication, and comfortable working with technical information, controlled documentation, and polished internal or external-facing materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Business, Technical Communication, Engineering, Science, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered
  • 2–5 years of experience in documentation, document control, records management, technical communication, proposal support, business documentation, or related work
  • Strong editing, proofreading, formatting, and document organization skills
  • Experience creating or editing procedures, work instructions, technical reports, presentations, published materials, or controlled documents
  • Experience with document management systems, SharePoint, metadata, version control, document routing, or release workflows preferred
  • Ability to work with technical subject matter experts and convert input into clear documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple documents, deadlines, reviewers, and priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting audits, regulated documentation, quality systems, or controlled records is a plus
  • Experience in nuclear, manufacturing, aerospace, defense, energy, engineering, or another regulated technical environment is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Develop, edit, format, and maintain procedures, work instructions, technical documents, reports, presentations, and supporting materials
  • Work with engineers, operations, quality, and business teams to turn technical input into clear, accurate, usable documentation
  • Review documents for clarity, structure, formatting, grammar, consistency, and completeness
  • Standardize language, formatting, and organization across company documents
  • Support development of templates, style guidance, and document standards
  • Support preparation of polished materials for internal leadership, customers, partners, regulators, investors, or public-facing use
  • Edit and format presentations, project summaries, technical narratives, reports, and other business materials
  • Ensure materials are accurate, professional, consistent with company messaging, and appropriately reviewed before release
  • Coordinate feedback from technical reviewers, leadership, legal, quality, and other stakeholders as needed
  • Maintain strong attention to tone, audience, confidentiality, and technical accuracy
  • Provide backup support for document control workflows, including document intake, formatting, routing, review, approval, release, and archiving
  • Maintain version control and help ensure current documents are properly organized and accessible
  • Update document metadata, links, naming conventions, document marks, and release information in company systems
  • Support document watermarking, signature routing, finalization, and controlled release processes
  • Assist employees with locating records, accessing documents, and following document control procedures
  • Organize and maintain electronic records in document management systems, SharePoint, and related company systems
  • Ensure documents and records are complete, accurate, retrievable, and audit-ready
  • Support internal and external audits by helping gather, review, and organize requested documentation
  • Maintain document histories, revision records, approvals, and related supporting information
  • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or outdated information and coordinate updates with document owners
  • Help improve documentation workflows, templates, review processes, and system organization
  • Support cleanup and organization of document libraries, metadata, folder structures, and document tracking tools
  • Coordinate with quality, engineering, operations, business development, legal, leadership, and document control teams to move documents through review and release
  • Track document status, reviewer feedback, action items, and open issues
  • Support special documentation projects, system transitions, and process improvement efforts as assigned
