We are seeking a skilled, experienced Technical Director to join our Operations and Maintenance Services team supporting a diverse array of treatment facilities across the southeastern US. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in wastewater treatment, with a proven track record of providing operational and regulatory compliance expertise to wastewater treatment facilities. This role is critical to helping to ensure the stability, efficiency, and compliance of wastewater treatment systems under our care. The position is location independent within the southeast US / Gulf states, with an average expectation of 50% travel (typically 8-10 nights/month).

Requirements

Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in a STEM related field required.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in wastewater treatment operations, treatment process troubleshooting and/or regulatory roles.
Strong knowledge of CWA requirements and industry standards for wastewater treatment facility performance.
Experience in project or initiative management, including planning, execution, budgeting or costing, and stakeholder management.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Background screening, drug testing, and driving record review where applicable.

Nice To Haves

Course work in data science/statistical methods is a plus.
Plant supervisory experience and/or operational licensure is a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide expert guidance across our portfolio of facilities on the operation of wastewater treatment plants, including troubleshooting, process control and optimization, and regulatory compliance.
Work closely with facility-based operational staff, regulatory agencies, company leadership and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with plant performance goals and regulatory requirements.
Support the company’s QA programs to ensure the highest standards of service delivery and compliance with all relevant regulations.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of operations and maintenance activities.
