About The Position
Signal & Strand is partnering with a women’s apparel brand focused on delivering trend-right product with a strong emphasis on fit, quality, and consistency across a high-volume assortment. This role sits within Technical Design and partners closely with Production, Buying, and Development to bring products from concept through production readiness. With a monthly cadence of ~70+ styles, this position plays a critical role in ensuring garments are executed with precision at scale.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in technical design, patternmaking, or apparel development
- Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, and pattern execution across categories
- Experience leading fit sessions and communicating decisions clearly across teams
- Ability to manage a high-volume workload in a deadline-driven environment
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop
- Working knowledge of Google Suite or Microsoft Office tools
- Comfort working cross-functionally and with global vendors
Nice To Haves
- experience working within ERP systems such as NetSuite is a plus
- High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
Responsibilities
- Own the fit process from development through pre-production across a high-volume pipeline
- Ensure consistency in fit, construction, and quality across categories
- Partner cross-functionally to translate design intent into production-ready garments
- Identify and mitigate risks related to fit, quality, and manufacturing
- Measure samples from proto through pre-production and prepare for fittings
- Evaluate garment construction and quality relative to category and fabrication
- Lead fit sessions independently on live models and dress forms
- Identify fit, balance, and construction issues and communicate clear, actionable feedback
- Document fit comments using written and visual tools to support vendor execution
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align on fit intent and product expectations
- Flag potential risks related to production, costing, or quality and recommend solutions
- Maintain communication with domestic and overseas vendors, including real-time collaboration when needed
- Track workflow, manage timelines, and ensure alignment with production calendars
- Support process improvements to drive efficiency and consistency in fit
