About The Position
The Maintenance Department Manager is responsible to ensure all mechanical and electrical plant equipment is maintained and is in good operating condition, to minimize downtime, optimize production, and facilitate smooth on-schedule maintenance outage and repair. Drives production improvements in safety, quality, delivery and cost.
Requirements

- Experience with maintenance management software including inventory, work-order system, and MRO
- Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Works with integrity and respect displaying a high degree of tact and diplomacy
- Must be familiar with various measuring devices and analyzing information
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Understand processes involved with equipment design, parts fabrication, custom equipment and/or die assembly, and equipment layout
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Understand and interpret technical drawings

Responsibilities
- Creating and implementing preventative maintenance programs
- Meeting maintenance cost budgets
- Meeting equipment up-time goals
- Pre-qualifying contractors and administrative contracts for equipment installation and maintenance
- Plant inventory spare-parts management, and replenishment
- Interacting with the operations and engineering teams to support major projects, and plant engineering modifications or expansions
- Responding to breakdowns by determining the root cause of the problem and effective immediate repair
- Maintenance standard operating procedures and revision control on all plant equipment
- Working with vendors to ensure proper inventory and quality for all equipment
- Ensuring efficient utilization of plant personnel and equipment to meet equipment up-time OEE goals, and downtime goals for plant
- Performing installation, start-up and commissioning of all plant equipment when necessary
- Behaving continuously and consistently with desired CWS values, and characteristics
- Keeping abreast of emerging technology and industry practices
- Maintaining machine shop capable of making mechanical, plumbing, and electrical repairs to manufacturing and plant equipment
- Interviewing, hiring, and training employees
- Planning, assigning, and directing work
- Appraising performance
- Rewarding and disciplining employees
- Addressing complaints and resolving problems
- Ensuring adequate staffing and training of plant maintenance technicians
- Supporting a corporate culture that focuses on facts, tangible results, and behaviors
- Maintaining plant maintenance staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe and secure work environment; developing personal growth opportunities
- Supervising and establishing priorities and scheduling personnel for maintenance of all plant equipment, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic
- Accomplishing staff results by communicating job goals and expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
